While this game is short and the game itself rather old, the actual story and mechanics hold up surprisingly well!

You take the role as Delta 38 and are the leader of Delta Squad and get to go through a Geonosis droid factory, an abandoned venator, and even Kashyyk! Each environment will take you about 2 hours and, while short, it is a great time which I will explain why now!

STORY
While nothing too special, each environment offers a unique mission for Delta squad that I personally found intriguing and fun. Nothing groundbreaking about any mission, but it is indeed a good time with a few pleasant surprises and cameos from known Star Wars characters, especially from the perspective of the commandos. Also, while short, the ending is well done and caps the game off well with even some bonus behind the scenes content to check out!

CHARACTERS
While nothing too new again, each commando is unique and Temura Morrison even returns as voice actor for Delta 38, the leader! Despite how you've seen each personality in each commando before, you do indeed connect with them through the campaign story beats, combat dialogue, and offhand comments. By the end, I genuinely liked each clone and was wishing there was more campaign just to be with them a little longer. Hopefully they pop up in the upcoming Bad Batch show!

COMBAT
At first, I thought the combat was horribly unbalanced. However, as time went on, I realized I simply was not using my arsenal properly and underutilizing both my grenades and my grenade launcher. Once I figured this out, the game really shines through the 4 grenade types, the customizable DC-17 blaster and its 3 different attachments, as well as your melee and the special weapons that enemies and allies drop/leave around. Combine this with your clone commandos and the well done commands/specialized roosts for them to use and the game can be very fun! While the AI on the enemies are old and you will run into moments of frustration, it is fast paced and still a fun time, especially with the militaristic detail for commanding your fellow clones.

SOUND & MUSIC
You get your typical Star Wars music in this game, but also some incredible new tracks exclusive to this game! As soon as you open the game for the first time, the commandos' theme starts up and it is fantastic! On top of this, the voice acting is great, the sound design is very well done, and I can't get enough of the soundtrack.

CONS
Like any game, there are indeed flaws. The game is very short and, if you are a much better at this game than me, you will likely be done in well under 6 hours.
This game is old and the graphics show quite a bit. So, if you like to be visually blown away, you won't be here.
Some enemies feel bullet-spongey and can get irritating on the higher difficulties. That said, I believe this is more of design choice to encourage fully utilizing your arsenal rather than only using a couple of your weapons.
The AI is not fantastic and can be quite dumb at times, especially when involving strafing and melee.
Finally, taking damage doesn't feel too impactful, so you can be melted VERY quickly. However, again, I think this is more of a design choice so, when you seen an enemy that can melt you, you hide and adapt with whatever weapon you have that can take it down the fastest.

CONCLUSION
This game is great! They nailed the commando aspect of this game super well and put the effort in to expand the Star Wars universe in a new yet interesting way that has kept itself in Star Wars canon thanks to Star Wars: The Clone Wars and now Star Wars Battlefront II (2017). If you are looking to scratch that Star Wars itch with a fun game, this will scratch it for a very affordable price!

UPDATE 3/17:
Decided to try playing again after a few months away. While the balance between killers and survivors is better, I could barely play the game due to how bad performance was. Going from silky smooth gameplay to massive stuttering made it unplayable for me. If you have a mid-tier PC as myself, best stay away until they improve their performance.

I bought the game on Discord when it was first released and I had a blast! Each game felt like being dropped into an open map with objectives that herded you to around, but always gave you the freedom to go your own way (and most likely die :P). Since it was released on Discord, many buyers had mics and it led to many rounds with great teamwork and lots of fun. It was by no means perfect, but it played fairly well despite great teams being nearly unbeatable (and many killers could get a kill or two at the end if done right).

As the updates remained minimal and the devs went silent, the playerbase shrunk and I was left with only empty lobbies. It was a massive bummer because this game had potential. Almost a year later, it finally gets an update and is ported over to steam...

*FYI, I say this after only playing 3 hours as survivor.*
The steam release of this game has been...problematic. First, the maps. The devs clearly wanted to make it easier for killers since they were under-equipped in the previous version of the game, so they removed pathways and added some here and there. Library got a nice overhaul (although I enjoyed the old format), Belltower is about the same, and the gym was turned into a linear map (making it a bloodbath for any team that is not coordinating). While the gym being completely changed baffles me, the others feel ok...when you get to explore them and you aren't immediately killed.
SOLUTION: add back in the old maps as separate variations. This way, we have more map variety :)

This brings us to the killer changes and the Spider! First off, the original killers all had a trade-off in terms of speed, health, and style of attack. With the spider, you don't have this since it has range, speed, and attack damage. The only saving grace is his low health, but it still makes him a complete game stopper unless your team is coordinating well. While I understand why they wanted to make a stronger killer since killers getting stomped was common prior to Steam, making it so you can't even escape due to its running speed is kinda ridiculous since ALL other killers can not catch you in the same way (part of the skill of being a killer). Hopefully this gets balanced soon, or else I'd recommend only playing with some friends so you can survive past the first objective.
Also, the spider's insta-kill holes have no tell when compared to every other killer which is seriously annoying. Hopefully they add a crack in the floor or some other way to tell there is an insta-kill trap.
SOLUTION: add a tell and add a small yet fast stamina bar for the spider. This way, he's speedy, but you still have a chance to run away.

In regards to survivors, the system has been completely reworked which is a bit of a mixed bag. Survivors can no longer upgrade their primary item with scrap, making you that much weaker against the killers and giving you less options. Previously, you could invest in better gear at risk of dying and losing it, but that is no longer an option.
The new progression is also fairly lame. Due to the sorry state of matchmaking, you usually get a minuet amount of coins for progression in the new magic web, meaning you progress super slow. Granted, this is as a solo player. A communicating team could probably unlock much of the web pretty quick.
The new cosmetics and emotes are welcome additions. They add some visual variety and you get rewarded well, even when your team is stomped or everyone else had dced, leaving you just waiting for it all to end so you can hopefully find a better lobby.
SOLUTIONS:
--Make coin drop rates apply to things such as time alive, scrap collected, items crafted, etc.
--Increase scrap spawning and add back in upgrading main abilities.
--Reward players extra when a player dcs through increased card and coin drops

On the technical aspect, it feels worse than ever. You will get stuck and rubber-band due to bad connection, the spider's spit will tank your framerate and most likely lag your game, thus draining your health further and making you easy prey.
On top of this, lag spikes are fairly common. As someone who ran it on Discord with no complaints, running into a laundry list of issues after the game's revival is disheartening to say the least.

Overall, the game feels like it has taken a big step backwards. The game feels more unbalanced with less variety despite having a new survivor and killer. The performance can go from decent to bad very quickly. On top of all this, the new content isn't well optimized or balanced, leading to constant dcing, quick bloodbaths, and little enjoyment to be had as a solo player.

If you are looking to buy game, I'd hold off. This game does have potential and the devs might be able to make it better, but I doubt it considering it took them nearly a year to add little content and decrease the game's quality and fun factor.
This all said, if you have friends to play with and this seems fun like a fun game to you, and you are willing to deal with the problems it has, then give it a shot.

EDIT 3.0 (04/2021): This game has nailed the asymetrical gameplay loop. While the game is certainly not perfect and the devs still make silly mistakes every other patch, I find myself coming back for that gameplay loop that really is not like anything else.

Combine this with the loads of grinding you can do, plenty of cosmetics you can unlock with in-game currency (though grindy), and the relatively new tomes with challenges to beat, there is always something to work towards in this game!

If this game looks fun to you, give it a shot, you'll likely enjoy it. :)

EDIT 2.0: Now 3 years later and this game is still being updated with quality DLC and plenty of balancing. While I certainly will admit there has been a drop in productivity (wish we got more brand new maps), it is clear that the devs are committed to this game. Now, if only they could add some new modes...

EDIT: Wow, 2 years later and I am still finding serious enjoyment in this game! Not only that, but the developers are genuinely trying to support the game with good content and have added 2 free DLC chapters as well as plenty of fun and interesting killers and survivors. If this looks fun to you, I'd highly recommend buying this game (on sale) and then supporting the devs through buying cosmetics. :)

A good asymetrical horror game. So, what do I like about this game:
-Playing as the killer and feeling so powerful
-Playing as the survivor and outsmarting the killer
-The Template maps being "randomly generated" every round to give it some variety
-The DLC, which is appropriately priced for the content it offers
-Sound Design: gets my heart beating everytime and really gets me in the horror mood
-Atmosphere: this game will make you scared when you first start out, and will still entertain those of you with weaker wills (like me)

What's not really good nor bad:
-The leveling system: while grindy and abilties randomly earned, it is an enjoyable system that offers the ability to make decisions as you go through the blood web
-Map Randomness: while it is logical that you shouldn't know what map you are going to get, there should be a higher chance of getting the DLC maps by default so you have more opportunities to experience them
-Dev Updates: while it is great that they are trying to keep the game balanced, some of their decisions have been debateable at best
-Graphics: they serve their purpose, but nothing more
-Achievements: It will probably over 500 hours of grinding to 100% this game, which can be good or bad depending on how you like your game

What's bad:
-Matchmaking: no dedicated servers or matchmaking system, so it is all based off host (killers) connectivity. It takes far too long to find a game because of this system, as well as pissing you off in the process
-Bugs: many have been fixed, but they do exist and can ruin a round for you
-Ranking system: why is there only 1 matchmaking mode and it is competitive?! Honestly, it is pretty silly
-Players: there will always be camping killers and weak-willed survivors that ruin rounds for you, but thats a staple in every multiplayer game now-a-days

Overall, it's worth the buy if you want to have some scary, asymetrical horror fun, especially if you have some friends who play it!! If you are too weak-willed or incredibly impatient, than I would watch some gameplays before you buy.

Early Access Review
If you are a fan of RWBY, this will be pretty fun. That being said, this game isn't anywhere near to being finished.

The current "story" will take you under an hour to complete and the story itself, as of right now, is barely even a story. The enemies feel a little too beefy as of right now, taking too long to kill even the weakest of enemies. With plenty of bugs and smaller combat related issues, it will be a long 8-10 months to full release.

Despite the flaws I mentioned and numerous others, it is a blast. The best times I had were fighting far too many Grimm only for Ruby, Yang, or Blake to swoop in and wipe out nearly all of them. All of the characters feel great and fight beautifully which is really what makes the game still recommendable in its current state.

Most recommendations of Early Access games are based on the potential of the game to eventually deliver what you want. In RWBY: Grimm Eclipse, the best part, the part you want, is already available to experience. With a reliable, community driven company like Roosterteeth backing it, this game is only going to receive more content, get more refined, and end up delivering what you want and more.

Early Access Review
Tripwire Industries has made a fantastic game revolving around the zombie slaying core gameplay with free content being released every couple weeks or so. Many players and reviewers have praised the game as "Steam Early Access done right."

That ended with the addition of an RNG case system (similar to CS:GO). I will change my review as soon as the RNG element is removed.

EDIT: I am not upset about paying more money, infact I understand the need to keep funds coming in to continue development. That being said, this RNG case system is old, overused, and becoming more of a place to "work the market" rather than enjoying the content provided. It becomes more about getting the rarest item in the game than getting the items that look most appealing to you. That said, if Tripwire was to remove the rarity levels and the quality of items (factory-new, heavily worn, etc.) I would be happy with the system and would gladly support it.

With that said, this "Trading Floor", at its best, is lazy while exploiting the consumer at every turn. For that reason, I am not supporting nor recommending this game.

My review will remain negative until microtransactions are removed from this DLC driven game. Better do something Overkill.

Also, check out this link if you are unaware of just how greedy and deceitful Overkill has been toward the community:

CS:GO Review
To be perfectly honest, I don't understand why this game is still so popular. While the graphics are good and the gameplay is simple yet addictive, the community is what spoils the fun. There is so much hate that it ruins the game for those of us who just want to have a good time. If you haven't tried CS:GO, better to stay away unless you have friends who want you to play. If you are one of those people that ridicule others when they make a mistake, get a life that doesn't revolve around making other people miserable.

Game: Solid 8 out of 10

Game + Community: 3 out of 10

A beautiful open world set in 2027 with you as an augmented super soldier. This game has a brilliant story, an awesome combat system that allows lethal and non lethal kills from close up and far away, a well balanced upgrade system that can allow you to punch through walls, turn invisible, and much more, and an RPG element that gives your choices and actions weight as you unravel the mysterys that lie within this world. At a mere $20, this game will supply you with hours of enjoyment. Get this game.
