I mostly play the AGOT mod and various submods for it, but ♥♥♥♥♥ addicting. Would recommend.

On the short, I'm saying no for now, but investigate a bit before you buy. This is very likely to change to a yes assuming the developers listen to the 90%+ saying they dislike the changes instead of the 4% yesmen.

I will update this potentially as time goes, depending on whether the game is worth keeping up with. On release, the game was amazing. A rough gem in a genre known for its pvp and toxicity. Classes all felt powerful, with some small balancing issues. The enemies always felt flat but there were promises to change that.

This latest update (as of june 29th, 2023) took several steps back, with the devs taking the lazy approach to balancing (Nothing but a lot of nerfs to each class with some barely viable alternatives added). Instead of improving the issues with the enemies, they took pieces from each class. If this is any indication of how the developers will react to requests for more of a challenge, I'm personally out. Nerfing everyone instead of making viable enemies is not the alternative I'd like to see, and the lines of communcation so far have left me with the impression that offworld doesn't really care if the game is fun, only if its challenging. I came for Staship troopers, not an fps soulslike with a starship paintjob. I want to kill a lot of bugs. I want to get killed by a lot of bugs. Make the bugs better and give us our loadouts back.


Well, I said I'd come back to update this so here I am (3/5/24). My recommendation? Buy Helldivers 2.

I tend to enjoy turn based rpgs, and I gotta say I felt pretty excited going into this one. I didn't play it long before I saw how the mechanics really just didn't do it for me. If you like playing ring around the rosie with the enemy trying to backstab constantly, I guess this is for you, otherwise "Run Around Each Other Perpetually: The Game" was not for me. Don't recommend. Refunded.

I've played for a minute or two. Good game, lots of different game modes for people to find their niche.
