The patches literally made the game way worse then on release!

Its fun, but I am not too much into achievement hunting gameplay.

This game has time sensitive quests. I hate them, a lot. I stopped playing becouse I missed one.

Good think I had an old save, still why. Especially a quest that is so important.

It is the best VR game released todate. It is polished to an extream, and most importantly the gameplay is varied and fun. However, I rarely like prequels, and in this case I would have strongly preferred a continuation. The story mostly felt very save, we didn't learn anything particularly new. In a new story we maybe could have directly talk to an advisor or discovered the Borealis. In Alyx we only discover things we already seen or experienced, even though it actually had the chance to do more. For example, I would have liked to not just looked, but to experience City 17 more. It would have been so cool, if we could have walked through the streets of City 17 filled with CP. Going through Combine checkpoint, experience there propaganda and seeing people's everyday life. Or maybe experience the 7 hour war, besides some cryptic news articles. Alyx just plays it too save.

To summarize I was disappointed, not because that what we got was bad, but because I wanted more.

Some other smaller stuff:
* I would have preferred a non voiced protagonist
* I didn't like the Combine soldiers designs. They were goofly looking and none threatening.
* I would have liked more varied feeling levels.
* WHERE ARE THE MODDING TOOLS!

The game is ambitious, especially the implementation of physics is fascinating and in depth. The first level proudly shows what it can add to the experience. Sadly, for me it did not fully work out, it was just too jank.
My weapons constantly got stuck on my vr-body, making it hard to aim. My hands sometimes would clip throw terrain, taking me like 2-3 minutes to free myself. The weapon slots on my vr-body would often not accept the weapons.
In addition is the level design is unintuitive and mazelike with far too few checkpoints. For someone without perfect VR legs, replaying long sections is just aching.
And there are many other smaller things: the hard to follow story, the too robust supply boxes and the useless turrets.
I really want to like this game, but for me it's just too frustrating.

The controls are very imprecise, if you acededely walk off an edge you need to repeat the entire puzzle from the start. Also the music made me furious, it feels like each track is 10 seconds long and repeats itself nonstop.

This game has some extream ludonarrative dissonance. There are literally two Lara Crafts.

The gameplay Croft is a goddess of war. Armed to the teeth she can massacre entire armies of man with precise and deadly headshots.

The story Croft gets captured a lot by some randome generic solders, failes to kill the main bad guy right in front of her multiple times.

Story wise the game is just very infuriating, otherwise the game is fun. It looks nice, there is a lot
do and explore.

It's not a bad game, but the first one is way better.

The main issue, the game has barely any tension. You just go to places marked on your map, collect stuff and win? You can't really avoid any threats, like is the first one, so you just face tank everything. And finally the new added story is just ok.

This review I found sums it up pretty well:

The game is good. I especially liked the combat and boss fights, unlike the story. It's very save and kinda meh, only saved by the great and well performed characters.

The thing I really hated was how restrictive the game was. It has blatant and numerous invisible walls. I was running or jumping into them non stop while playing. Also you can only wall run on predetermined walls, all other walls, which look totally fine, lead to you falling into your death. The amount of force powers is also very low.

It was an alright game, but the old Jedi Knight 2 was better.
