Early Access Review
Keeps the spirit of the original PoE in it's Early Access and delivers a superb experience.

The review is primarily of the EA and will evolve with over time.

Expect a bit of disappointment if you go into it thinking it is a reskinned PoE 1. It is a different game.

This game is not a casual friendly experience - even though the opening accessibility is far ahead of PoE 1.

Boss design is absolute peak. The first three acts are absolutely well done.

End game leaves a bit to be desired for but leaves enough grinding for a solid hundred hours if you want to see everything.

Considering Early Access is hopefully the worst state the game is going to be in - this game definitely has the potential to be the best ARPG ever made, beating it's predecessor PoE 1.

D4 doesn't even marginally compare and feels like a mobile game in comparison.

Also D4 bad.

One of the best FPS games out there. Huge props for the devs for doing this with the small team they have and middle of a war in Ukraine, definitely deserves a shot.

Came back to RS3 from OSRS after about 7 years of grinding here and there on OSRS.

Initially left RS3 around 2012 along with the Evolution of Combat updates being on brink and at this point of time I feel like RS3 respects player time a lot more than OSRS does. Yeah, everything is faster, yeah MTX exists but I am not the kind of person that needs to buy every shiny little object a game throws at me, I can see how that might seem to someone without that level of self-control.

I was maxed before I left RS3 and I came back to a decent amount of skills to level up and hey, I could speed up the process if I wanted to as I now did have disposable money and less hours than I had as a 15 year old. The combat system leaves a lot to be desired for, I don't think anyone likes the tick based system but playing Runescape for a better part of 15+ years, it's something you get used to and I found the entire thing a bit refreshing.

Tarkov but you don't need to immediately check yourself into a mental asylum after playing it.

After nearly 1.3k hours, changing my review to negative.

In the current condition of the game I cannot honestly recommend the game to anyone. The game, while incredibly polished and plays really well falls in-terms of management. The exodus we had with AGS and New World once again peaks it's ugly head as communication and management once again destroys a great game with incredible success before being handed to AGS.

NA West has constant 5k+ queues, purely caused by bots. Bots and RMT is extremely rampant to the point where bots outnumber real players almost 3:1 (as evidenced by steam charts upon game updates).

A negative on the actual game would be the repetitive cycle that you fall into at the "current endgame" where you grind 6 days of dailies to have 1 day of fun with raids which you cannot entire after that. The horizontal progression in the game is lackluster at best and apart from skill points, doesn't add any real value.

Overall, not recommended.

1. Build a deck you think is fun
2. Immediately get OTK'd by some guy who read up a decklist and how to actually play the game
3. Google meta decks and play one of those and conform to normality.
