Great conclusion to the Cold Steel and Crossbell arcs. The Reverie Corridor offers additional stories about the characters’ lives before the events of Reverie, with three of these stories providing context and spoilers for the next installment. By the end of the game, Rufus has become one of my favorite characters in the series. On to the Calvard arcs!

I wasn’t expecting much from this game before playing it, but the lore and Kevin's story proved me wrong. Unlike the usual Trails series games, this installment leans heavily into being a dungeon crawler. However, it stands out with its focus on lore, world-building, and character backstories, which are fantastic and provide valuable context for future installments. Kevin now contends with Estelle for the top spot as my favorite main character in the series.

Great storytelling all the way. It starts off slow, showing the daily lives of the SSS after Zero, and gradually ramps up as the stakes get higher towards the end. More lore and character backgrounds are explained, with answers to the questions presented in Zero addressed. There are great references to the events of Cold Steel I & II. I got goosebumps in many scenes of the game. Wazy has now become one of my favorite characters in the series.

Really great from start to end. I liked the slow start leading to an intense ending that presented questions to be answered in the next games. The SSS grew on me, and I loved how, despite their limited experience, they persevered through adversities and showed their resolve till the end. Randy is funny and a nice bro.

A really great game and I enjoyed it a lot (Story, Characters & Gameplay). It's a step up from the previous games and continues the story from where it left off in II with characters from the other games (Sky, Zero & Azure) start to come together.

What blew me away most first when launching the game was that I was greeted with a really great music (Start Line) playing in the main menu. I will always let the main menu music loop itself once before starting to play the game every time i launched it. Overall, the whole soundtracks for the game is amazing starting from "Pancakes on the Way Home" all the way to "Spiral of Erebos". I even bought the digital album from Apple Music.

You will be controlling the same main character from the previous two games but now have a different party to work with (which will be your main party). Old characters from the previous games will appear as party members from time to time but it is best to focus on the current main one. Characters are great, some are kind of a repeat personality from the previous games but overall still unique (Especially Ash & Musse).

The story continues from the previous games with more of the lore and mystery explained. Due to that, different factions (Class VII, Bracers, SSS, etc.) start to come together to deal with the threat which felt really epic, knowing you've got all these talented people working with you at different parts of the world in their own way. This will also lead to one amazing adventure and climax which will be the next game, Trails of Cold Steel IV.

Really looking forward to Trails of Cold Steel IV next year for Steam, and really hoping that the Crossbell Arc gets localised so I can buy to play it, understand the story and also support the developers.

All in all, a great game that will explain more of the lore and mystery that has been around.

Great end to the first part of the Trails series. Really enjoyed the story and game. There's so many scenes that gave me goosebumps even though it's a Chibi Sprite game. Hopefully they localise the Crossbell games. Olivier is still and will always be the best character.

PROs:
Get to play as the best girl of the game in new outfit.
Able to 100% the game in Steam.
You can hear English Alisha say 'Friggin Rose!'

♥♥♥♥:
Big final dungeon
Price is high for the content

Many people say the final dungeon will take a long time but I was able to clear it in a short time. When playing the New Game+ for the main game, my party was leveled up so much that I was able to just pop a 'Holy Bottle' for the final dungeon.

If you are really interested in this DLC and want to experience it yourself, just get it on discount.

Good JRPG, but not the best 'Tales of' game. First things first, if you came from the Anime, the game is a whole lot different.

Story:
Decent story explaining how bad human emotions and actions can cause problems and monsters (called Hellions in this game) to rise. Story of a young pure-hearted hero who learns the truth of the world and humans and sets out on a journey with his seraphim (basically spirits) and human companions to save it.

Characters:
None that stand out to me though I will not deny that i have a few favourites (Lailah, Zaveid and Edna). Personally, i do not really enjoy main characters who are 'too heroic' and naive. I felt Rose was kind of a random character to include, although she has a backstory but I did not feel anything from it. Rose is just there to do what Sorey (The Main Character) could not. Alisha was set aside after a while but I feel has a more impact in the story than Rose. (Though you can have a chance of playing as her in the DLC). The 5 Seraphim companions all have their own personality which i found Lailah, Edna and Zaveid to be interesting.

Jokes in the skits were enjoyable and it was great to see the many different interactions the characters have.

Battle:
Not the best battle system implemented. No free camera is one of the things that turned me down. However, Armatization is a cool concept that I really enjoyed. (It is really OP but risky when characters start to get KO'd) After learning Lailah's Armatization's 'Ancient Nova', everything just got easier.

Voice:
I played the first run in Japanese and New Game+ in English and was happy that there were no cringing English voice acting, in fact, it was well done!

Movie Animations:
You can expect high quality animation during Openings, Movie Cutscenes and Ending Scenes as they were done by ufotable.

Music:
The music in this game is great. I enjoyed the battle music and some that were used for the different scenes that had more 'emotion'.

Achievements:
100 Percenting this game may be a challenge to some but it was alright for me except for the long equipment grindings. I can understand achievements that need you to grind but 'Grinding + RNG' is not a good idea, it just adds more time to the grind. The only challenge in the achievements is to defeat the final boss in all difficulties AND fight the 'Powered-Up' version of the final boss in one of the higher difficulty.

ALSO,

If you want Steam to display 100% for this game, you are going to have to get the "Alisha's Story" DLC (I did another short review for this) for the remaining 6 achievements which are relatively easy to get. You might also want to consider replaying the game at 'New Game+' to make things a little easier for the main game and the DLC before going to the DLC.

Overall, I recommend this game for people that enjoy 'Tales of' Series, JRPGs or RPGs in general because at the end of the day, I enjoyed it. Found myself laughing to some scenes and skits. Got really into the battle mechanics and equipment combinations. Ending was a little bit of a tear-jerker (maybe due to the music the game used in the end credits).

Great Game Overall:
-Characters are all likeable (Especialy Magilou & Eizen) & good character development (Velvet, Laphicet & Eleanor).
-Combat System pretty easy to understand.
-Many different difficulties available to make things more interesting.
-Free to roam and explore most of the time.
-Story is good, explains the events happening before Zestiria.
-Plenty of Side Quests to spend time on.
-Zaveid is here!
-Magilou & Eizen are really funny in the Skits.

Also, My Favourite Characters are Magilou, Eizen & Rokurou (The two guys are so badass)
Magilou - Bogus Witch which is actually pretty strong (Just spam that meteor if you're too lazy)
Rokurou - Someone who can counter and nullify an enemy Mystic Arte (Now that's the Rangetsu way!)
Eizen - A Spirit Pirate Brawling Mage who Knows-It-All (Need more Descriptions?)

On a sidenote, I played with Japanese audio and the voice acting is really great. (Especially Velvet, Magilou and Eizen)

Nice Soundtracks, Some Favourites:
-Shout Your Soul!
-Zaveid, the Exile (Both Acoustic and Battle Version)
-That's My Way, Eizen
And of Course,
-The Way of Katz

Definitely Recommend to people who like JRPG, RPG or Tales Series
