I have not played a story driven game in a long time and didn't know what to expect before going into this game, but honestly this game was incredible to play. I seriously reccomend it if you want to just switch off and get absorbed into a game for a few hours.

A great, epic soundtrack that I fell is not used enough in the game itself, so it is good to be able to play it from a seperate speaker whilst I play locally with friends.

If this game interests you and is on sale, buy it. I don't believe it is worth the £23 but goes on a sale a good amount. I would also not recommend the Digital Deluxe add-on because it doesn't add much and isn't worth its price. I do believe this game is brilliant and a good pick up when on sale, despite little annoyinbg querks (Such as AI that doesn't act like a human and porrly optimised menus).

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!
There. I hope anyone scrolling through will realise that buying this game is a bad idea, let me explain why...

First off, the game seems to have a nice charm to it. I got it in a humble bundle (April 2014) and got some suprisingly bad games with it, although some were ok. It reminded me of games I used to play when I was a child with its slightly poor graphics and mediocre AI, so starting off was a nice experience. The feeling was stripped from underneath me though however when the quests started. The quests don't tell you enough on how to get round and where to go, I ended up lost and confused. A lot of the time I would go into a place that was way too high of a level for a starting character, so in my genius, I googled what I had to do. But what came up shocked me. As I said previously, I bought this game on humble bundle so didn't buy this game individually or sit through the most arrogant of trailers. Because it turns out this game is a mobile port. Things began to make sense; This explained everything. I thought about reviewing this game for what it was before realising that it was not a mobile game: It was a steam game, so I shall review it as a steam game.

The second thing that decided to creep out from its bug infested rock was the head bobbing. When holding nothing in your hand, to to auto holstering after time or unequiping the actual weapon, there is absolutely no head bobbing. However when you get a weapon out your head decided to go crazy, as if the character is headbanging with a anvil cellotaped to his head. When you draw an arrow the crosshair moves around steadily but still weirdly enough for it to be off putting. None of this is the case though on horseback. You can run about as you please without any bobbing and have perfect aim. Not a great start.

This paragraph will be kindly donated to all the bugs I found after 2 hours of playtime, let's see, shall we?

1. The title screen will sometimes not load any buttons
2. Arrows will sometimes stick to the bow and decide never to fire
3. Axes and swords will stick sideways in the hand
4. Arrows will clip through objects
5. The sky will sometimes go completely black
6. With a shiled equiped, It sometimes doesn't want to appear/ be usable
7. Sometimes sounds will forget to play when using weapons
8. Sometimes animations forget to play
9. Sometimes runes don't do anything
10. Some small obsticles cannot be jumped over although in third person it shows them going higher
11. Some obsticles can be walked though completely (Trees, big rocks etc.)
12. The shadow only shows the arms and weapons
13. The loading screen plays bow sound effects
14. With a bow equiped, after a loading screen your bow appears to be drawn but isn't
15. Enemies can get stuck on small objects until you look away from them

Not sure if these are bugs...
1. Blunderbuss will have a fiery sound effect whilst reloading
2. Blunderbuss also creates a fireball whilst reloading
3. NPCs will only speak their first line of dialogue and use text for the rest
4. The axes hit range is crazily high
5. The character cannot move for around a second after they are hit whereas the enemies can
6. When swimming, third person shows your head below water, first person shows it above
7. The fire rune has shown no difference to using nothing to me
8. The head bobbing I spoke about earlier
9. ALL THE FLAGS WAVE IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS
10. Some chimneys have fire coming out of the top
11. Teleporting to a place on the map will sometimes take you to the other side of the place that you clicked
12. The only way of a horse is to change the camera view and then the horse disappears

The game seems to be copying greatly of Skyrim and I want to judge it against that because Skyrim basically owns this market anyway. I will some up everything about. Graphically it is okay and i am sure it could benefit from a HD graphics mod but I am still okay with the graphics. The sound, despite buggy, was quite nice. Grinding for XP and money was way to easy but levels didn't make enemies any easier to fight. After 15 minutes I had the highest level armour I could find (Despite the trailer showing better) and also the best bow and axe I could find, but my newly aquired levels didn't change much.

Overall I am going to give this game 3.5/10 as It really didn't uphold any of my interest for long enough to see it get any better. I got this game and others for 60p but it is shocking a mobile port would ask for £12.

So I got thief on a special deal and decided, before i play it, to play Thief Gold. Thief Gold is the original and features many great things. It has a range of arrows that the player can use to do a lot of things from putting out torches to causing distractions on the other side of the room. It is older than me so my hopes were not that high but it is still a very challenging game.
But anyway, to the game in question. The first thing I noticed was the fantastic PC port. I was not expecting this but you can change almost everything including controls, audio, graphics etc. Jumping into the game I found myself in a world of grim beauty. The artwork creates a very good atmosphere along with the eary music that keeps you on edge.

Those are all nice things but after completing a couple missions I realised the city/hub world was an "always on". The guards will always want to kill you and that makes getting around to the shops quite annoying. I read some reviews of people saying they liked this as it was good for practising but I found it more of a nuisance. Another unneeded nuisance is that, as far as I know, the only way to increase arrow holding capacity is to buy three extra DLCs all 79p each. It seems cheap but I do not want to pay money for something they could neatly add as the player gains more focus points. That leads me on to the skill points in thief called focus points. They are gained from completing certain missions and by paying in game gold to "The Queen of Beggars" for an ever increasing price. This is fine. I am perfectly happy with the gaining of focus points but not so happy with the usage. The skill "Trees", even though they are barely branches, consist of two perks; one will read something along the lines of "Slightly encrease your ability to..." the second one will be along the lines of "Majorly encrease your ability to...". I do not see a point in having them if they barely do anything. Even the first branch gets given a point already allocated to it before you get given an open map, leaving one space left for upgrade that early on in the game.

The puzzles were another thing that stood out to me. They all seemed so forced like a cry of attension reminding everyone you bought a game with more than stealth. THey never really fit into place and delay the proper gameplay.

At the end of each level you are "rewarded" for how you played. I say "Rewarded" because I have yet to see what it does besides XP. The three wins you can get are Opportunist, Predator and Ghost. I put them in order of how good it feels to get them, Opportunist being last. Opportunist is where you steal a lot of things and put out the most light sources but doesn't feel as rewarding as the others. In the first mission it teels the that the main character, Garrett, is against killing people then lets you get rewarded for killing as many people as possible. The game should strive towards making people want Ghost or Opportunist, not just Ghost.

Another thing that made me want to steal less was the fact houses had around 2 things to loot in them and some even had really oddly placed traps that make their houses unsusable and just dumb thief killing machines.

The combat was actually quite clever. In the original you were given a sword and blackjack, but in this game you do not get a sword. This makes people want to do more stealth than if they could just complete the game with stabing everyone under the sun. The blackjack is still used for takedowns ,although in an animation format instead a 'Click to hit' way, but you can press 'r' (by default) to hit with your blackjack. One verse one battles are easy enough with correct dodging along with one verse two battles, but any more and you are certain to loose life.

Overall Thief was still a good game, it has an immaculate stealth system and an atmosphere that keeps you on edge with the chance of guards always being around the corner. I will compare it to the original and say it clung to it like it should. So I will give this game 7/10 as it seems completely finished just could be better in all the above stated reasons. :3

This review would seem old and i have not played it for a while but I woanted people to know of such greatness.
A lot of people but great reviews about this game and framed it as the best game they had played, I believe this is not the case for me. It is an amazing game has fun narrative that will keep you entertained while exploring the vast dungeon that is stanley's office. I do belive that although there are many possbilities it has no replay value and i ran out of possibilities very quickly. There is an achievement called "Go outside" which is quite fun and can only be obtained by not playing stanley parable for 5 years. I felt they did not need to make this a thing as I wan't going to play beyond a week. The rest of the achievements are still funny and quircky and is is nice to see a game with such humour. I recommend you onlyfamily share to play it (If you can, if not buy it as it is still good) as it is not long enough for the amount of money i payed.
My reviews are seeming meaner and meaner but out of ten this would get a solid 8/10 limited purely by game time and replay value.

This one is interesting.
It has nice puzzles and seems very creative. There are many games that go for an "Art form" approach but I felt this game didn't quite nail it.
Don't get me wrong it is a good game. I feel the story is new and emersive taking key parts of childhood and focusing on how imagination is a beauty. But as far as a story, this is just the cover. Inside i found the controls clunky and a suprisingly annoying checkpoint system. My character seemed a little slow, although this is just a speed preference, and the turning didn't help. At parts it felt like it was aesthetically finished but still like playing a early access game. I remeber one point I got very stuk on a level and used hints to try to figure it out. I had placed a box to get to a higher platform and it hadn't worked. I watch a walk through and my box should have been two inches to the right and none of this was clearly marked out
I know I have been quite mean during this review but on the whole it was still enjoyable. I would give it a 6/10

This game is sooooooooo good.
I know it is only alpha and a lot of games are releaseing too early in development to get enough money to keep funding the games they are making but I would still recommend this. It isn't fully optimised and i will refrain from saying it is okay as it is only an alpha but the rest is good. Controller support that runs smoothly into 2 player co-op whether it is split screen or one camera.

The combat is delicious and really requires thought and precision. You can even slow done time as to think about your moves carefully and to make cool cinematics. You can level edit and even play custom levels (You have to download them of other websites but it should be getting steam workshop soon).

I don't normally give ratings out of 10 but if I had to I would give it a 9/10. This is because it is not perfect and still needs working on but on the whole is very fun to play, may just with a lack of content. :3
