Enhanced Graphics Pack makes AoE II from 1999 truly beautiful... I can't figure out any other RTS as pleasant to look at.

It is a bit heavy in terms of size but I would say that you must try it if you are planning to play the game for the first time ever.

The DLC "Return of Rome" is based in the first game of the franchise made in 1997 (two years before the release of Age of Kings, the "Original" Age of Empires 2) which will be essentially a conversion from the medievalist theme to antiquity swords-and-sandals style. That speaks volumes on how comfortable and pleasant is this title... The game engine has one of the best ever created for a RTS game. This is a must have for any strategy game fan, even if you only want the base game.

Totally worth every single penny.

10/10 RTS. If I need to tell you which DLC is worth paying, go for Return of Rome. You will get essentially a new game in this engine with ancient civilizations from the Age of Empires I. And even more campaigns and custom stuff

I don't know if what I am going to say will be considered a sincere compliment or a snarky roast but I bought the Digital Deluxe Edition and although I believe that it lacked decent extra goods, I am happy with the amazing soundtrack received and I am currently enjoying more the soundtrack rather than the game itself. For me it is easily the Best Soundtrack of 2021.
