You ever see those cartoons or movies where a toddler would be smacking two figurines together as if they were "fighting"?

That's the devs' Tekken 8 vision, and it definitely feels that way in Season 2.

You play as a cat and do cat things while wearing hats.

More of a dog person? Sorry, Dog lost his balls.

From real life Store Manager with annoying, constantly complaining customers to virtual Store Owner with the most perfect, silent, dead stare customers.

10/10 why can't my real job be like this

I thought I'd give VRC a chance to recoup after the whole Easy Anti-Cheat decision, see if the devs would actually fix the game. Spoiler Warning: They didn't

TLDR: These devs have no idea what they're doing. They're incredibly tone-deaf and incompetent. I'm either switching to Neos or Chillout VR.

So I hopped into the game for the first time since EAC got added.
I just want to put here that I'm running with an RTX3060ti and an i7 11700F
I play this game in VR.
I got a headache in my own homeworld that I used to run somewhere around 120fps before this update, all the way down to 30fps and below.

And the devs are claiming that users aren't actually getting severe frame drops. Give me a break. [ask.vrchat.com]

To give credit where credit is due, the devs are definitely working hard to implement features that should've been added forever ago before banning all mods.
But these devs are competent, see? They're scrambling to fix stuff that was already fixed when they fixed the "modding issue", making those fixed issues ISSUES AGAIN.

There isn't anything I can add to the conversation since everything has already been said. If you're new here and wonder why VRC is getting rammed into the dirt, check out Ivycomb's video on youtube. They detail.. the details of what happened pretty well.

Hot Dogs, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades. Otherwise known as "H3VR" is a simple game.
It's a game about guns. That's about it. The focus is the guns, the reloads, and everything in between.

If you know about guns, own some, or just wanted to shoot in a shooting range - this game is absolutely recommended.
If you know nothing about guns, can't own any, or just wanted to shoot in a shooting range - this game is, you guessed it, absolutely recommended.

I'll be honest, I'm a bit biased since this my favourite VR game by far. I'm a Canadian who has no real interest of owning guns, but I'm fascinated by the workings and love guns in general. So here's my quick review of the game.

The guns work as you expect with your respective VR controllers. I use the Rift S, so most of my inputs will be clicking and swiping the thumb stick in specific directions. Guns work similar to how they do IRL - at least with the limit of a sandbox involving sausages. So some things are definitely not accurate or non-existent for gameplay reasons.

There are several shooting ranges to just shoot the ridiculous amount of guns this game has. Seriously, this game has a ton of different guns. Each with different mag sizes, different bullet types in each respective calibre and a TON of attachments. But I digress. If all you want to do is shoot the guns in a range setting, these maps are for you.

Now for the real meat and extra sausages, Take and Hold.
This gamemode is the Roguelike of this game. And it's stupid fun and addicting. There's a leaderboard for you highscore competitors, and two different maps at the time of writing this (NOT INCLUDING MODS). The guns you start with are different for each character you decide to go with, with their own progression of weapons. Ranging from normal, WWII, Post War, and Modern progression. There's a ton of customisation even in this mode, so go nuts.

There's a Zombie sandbox too, but I'll be honest - that one bored me quite a bit. I suggest you try it, see if you like it.

Overall, I give the game a 9/10. This game would benefit heavily from having at least one extra person as a co-op partner, but as a singleplayer experience - this game is fantastic. A good game to chill out to if you got time to kill.

Do note I've only played the standing way since I have the space. There is a sitting way to play the game but I haven't tried it yet.

The music is insane, the fighting feels good, and it's surprisingly very fluid.

I've only played two different sessions and both times I broke a sweat cause this game WANTS you to swing wide. It literally does more damage than just stabbing away. It makes you move sideways and downwards too.

If you want a really fun roguelike in VR, this is your game. Alongside maybe H3VR with Take and Hold, but this is the sword and magic one.

Do try clearing out your immediate area too if you can.

This is easily a 9/10 for me right now. The only real complaint I have is the way movement works. Don't expect to go where you're looking if you're holding up on the joystick while turning. It's very disorienting, but bearable.

It's swinging your arms around to the beat of music.

Bring water, and take lots of breaks. This game will tire you out easily.

10/10, but watch out for the bad maps. Those are frustrating and very unfun.

This is what DayZ should've been. An open world survival game with updates and actual support. If you don't like Rust, DayZ, or survival games in general; this game is not for you.

TL;DR: Great game with very huge potential with very active devs. 3 patches to make the game better in under a week. I highly recommend supporting the devs on this game.

TL;DR score: 7/10

The Map.
Scum features a 12x12km map to run around in. In it; you'll find many military bunkers, military areas, restricted zones, towns, villages, trenches, and more. There's one problem in it though, and DayZ standalone suffered from this problem too. No vehicles. This game is completely reliant on your patience of running from point A to B. There's also another issue I'll bring up later, as it makes the game a little more tedious, but only somewhat involves the map size.

Gameplay.
It's a survival shooter. It'll work pretty much as you expect, with an added twist. Hunger, thirst, and everything else is mandatory. This game combines realism in its survival. You have an entire tab in your inventory menu dedicated to your metabolism. This screen shows your skills, levels, breathing, stomach volume, intestine volume, colon volume, and bladder volume. You read that right, you will need to go to the bathroom many times during your short life to not suddenly drop what you're doing to suddenly bend down and expel your explosive diarrhea. Your weight also matters, making you either slow, or drain your stamina very fast as you sprint. Overall, this is a very welcome edition to a survival game. It actually makes it a survival game.

Gunplay.
Previous segment was getting a little long, so gunplay has its own segment. It's a very solid experience. It feels like a mix of Arma, Battlefield and Call of Duty. It's also worth mentioning that your skills and how healthy you are affect your gun skills. How fast you reload, how steady you are, recoil management, etc. So stay healthy and eat your greens kids.

Players, Network, and Servers.
The network is a very clear work in progress. They've already released a first wave patch for the network and I can say that it shows, very much. Players lag a lot less, actions are more responsive, and overall a better experience. One of my gripes however, is that I tend to lose connection to a server rather easily. Granted, it could be my fairly bad internet of my current location of writing this review. Another issue I have is the player count. The max I've seen is 64 players in an official server. And you thought PUBG was a snore-fest. Ha. You read that right, 64 players in a 12x12km map. Usually I wouldn't say it's a big issue, but when a faster paced game like PUBG has 100 players in a 8x8km map and is SUCH a bore to play, this is absurd and an issue that needs to be addressed very soon.

Overall.
It's a fun experience, but since you'll be running around, or in a straight line for a long time to get to each location; I recommend bringing a friend along. It'll make the experience at least somewhat less boring in the massive downtime this game has. However when the action starts, it can get intense very fast.

Early Access Score: 7/10

Does a lot right, but even more needs fixing and optimisation is required. Also, mechs are spoopy with their new voices, plz send help.

Arma 3. One of the best Milsims out there. Why? Here's why I absolutely love the game.

The Gameplay.
It's absolutely solid. And HIGHLY moddable. However it does take some getting used to, as a beginner will most likely fumble around with the many options. This game is also... "realistic." Not Kingdom Come Deliverance's goofy "realism." But about as good as it can get. Yes, the game is buggy, but they're far from game breaking. They make for hilarious outcomes when doing a mission or when you're suddenly ragdolling through the sky.

The Gunplay.
A3's strongest point. The gunplay is phenomenal. It's not like CoD or CSGO. If you play like that, you will die. A lot. This game has tactics and strategy. A misstep can get you shot in the face. From 960meters. With a pistol. By an AI (look at my screenshots for what I'm referring to LOL). Snipers are my personal favorite. I have sniped players from over 2000 meters. So be wary if we're in the same server <3. Also something you should know, this game doesn't screw around if you get shot. A .50 Cal will one shot you. Any other caliber will one shot you if you're shot in the head or face if you have a helmet.

Multiplayer.
Who plays the campaign on shooters anymore? I do, but that's besides the point. The vast majority of players will go straight into the multiplayer. And the modding community makes this aspect shine VERY brightly for Bohemia's Arma titles. Zombies, more guns, more EVERYTHING. And PvP is very fun and engaging too. I found myself emptying loads of ammo towards enemy fire just so my partner can run through without dying.

Campaign.
Probably the one thing that has the least amount of plays. But take my word for it, try it out. It teaches you the mechanics of the game very well. Can't say any more than this.

The Maps.
They're enormous. 'Nuff said.

Overall.
A very fun game if you have a group of friends to play with. Or even just a partner. A must have for any shooter enthusiast. However, this game is not for complete casual play if you go into PvP. As you will most likely die over and over and get frustrated.

I rate this game a very strong 8/10. Some issues do pop up from time to time that are fairly frustrating. But it doesn't take away from the fun of the game. However, do wait for a sale to get all the DLC at once. As you'll be missing a lot of the game without said DLC.

Do you like Destiny? Yes? Get this game.

It's a lot like Destiny in a way. It's grindy and really... REALLY addictive.

But what does Destiny have that Warframe doesn't? Paid DLC.
