While I don't regret my purchase, I wouldn't recommend this game. It takes a lot of practice and patience to make tricks looks smooth and I can't seem to go 2 minutes without encountering weird physics bugs or having my skater randomly magnetise to ledges ruining my lines.

Vert in particular is really bad, which is a shame because the best part of these games to me is going really fast over big ramps. Most of my playtime in skate games are at the dam and mega parks.

Again tho, I don't regret my purchase and this'll hold me over for a casual skate sandbox to mess around in until Skate 4.

Pubs are room temperature IQ and in general ruin the experience of everyone in the lobby. Try to avoid Quickplay unless you're a masochist. One braindead person can screw over the entire team, and they do at every opportunity.

Game is fun with friends/competent teammates.

Good game, not as good overall as Borderlands 2, but then again not many games are. Main gripe is that the game is wayy too short. At least the stuff focused around Jack is really good, thank god. Sort of makes up for it.

Another gripe is bosses. Deadlift, Zarpadon, RK5 suck and are not fun to fight. The Final boss is much better tho, even better than the Warrior fight in BL2.

I prefer the gameplay here over BL2, getting around is easier with the low grav and double jumping. The combat is much faster and mobile, even indoors.

Skill trees are better. There's less 'useless' skills now (still some) and more coop focused stuff. Gearbox picked up that we like the stacking mechanics and now every character has some form of skill that stacks.

Oh and new Cryo element is fun but OP asf.

Dwindling playerbase means the large majority of players are devoted, long time veterans, etc. As a newbie, this game is unforgiving. You'll spend most of your time being stomped by teams of high level players while you wonder what just happened.

The game can be very rewarding and enjoyable once you become good at it, but to the average player just coming to try out the game, reaching that stage will be impossible due to how frustrating playing against these better players is.

If you're looking for a game to play sparingly, I would steer clear unless we somehow get a huge influx of new players to dilute the average skill level. However, if you're commited to pour a lot of time into the game or you're already skilled at other FPS games, then you'll probably have a better experience.

Even though the balance and absurd average skill level frustrates me at times, there is the occasional good experience in a match that keeps me coming back to play. Level 80-100s are the norm, I myself am level 20 after 250 hours of playtime, to put that into perspective.
