Mark of the Ninja: Remastered is a masterpiece developed and published by “Klei Entertainment”. It was released on the 8th of October of 2018 and is currently on sale for £15.49 or $19.99 on Steam.

This game is a beautiful game which runs really smoothly, has a great storyline and even tells lovely little pieces of Japanese history, tradition and culture. With the variety of play-throughs such as non-lethal and pacifistic to mass-murderer using terror as a weapon. From the very beginning of playing this game, you will be enraptured with its emphasis on remaining hidden and shadowed. Mechanics allowed for hidden assassinations from hidden areas to dangling corpses in order to terrify and decrease the enemy morale.

The game features a very comfortable difficulty curve as the levels progress, I found myself perfectly challenged just enough in order to retry at certain checkpoints due to the more high precision hazards. With these specific portions of the game, I found that the puzzles and tasks were just enough to cause me to regularly evaluate my approach and make me think outside of the box. Another design that I enjoyed were how the different Levels were grouped together in unique settings which helped to prevent the game from feeling “Copied and Pasted”. The different levels took place from a desert to a modern urban skyscraper.

In Summary;
This is an amazing indie game, with a focus on stealth-platformer gameplay and a story of vengeance and betrayal. This is a must buy and definitely something to pick up when on sale. The huge variety of hidden collectibles and different unlockables also allow for a huge amount of replayability. Mark of the Ninja was a massive pile of fun for me and possibly the best platform game I’ve ever played.

Pro's:
- Innovative Stealth Mechanics
- Optional Variety/Play Your Way
- Unique Platforming Puzzles
- Good Replayability

Con's:
- Quick to Complete

- Price

FTL: Faster Than Light. A gloriously simple, yet complex game. This is a top-down rogue-like that simulates the experiences of managing a crew on your own spaceship in a futuristic setting. It was initially released on the 14th of September back in 2012 and is currently on sale for £6.99 or $9.99 on Steam.

Chances are, if you’re into Sci-Fi, Strategy or Rogue-likes and you play on Steam. Then you’ve seen or heard of this game. It was also massively popularised by YouTubers such as Nerd3 and TotalBiscuit. And if you haven't, then you're actually missing out on quite a lot. The premise of the game, is that you control a crew of different races in different ships as you try to flee from the ongoing Rebellion and complete your mission for the Galactic Federation.

One of the most notable things about the game is it's easily recognisable Indie and Pixely design which seems to give an Arcade or Retro feel without limiting the game to such a style entirely. However the design still feels exclusively (and entirely) it's own, although their is a definite feel of inspiration from games such as Spelunky, X-Com and the classic board game of Battleships.
One of my favourite additions to the game would have to be it’s free expansion pack: “FTL:AE (Advanced Edition)”. This added a whole new series of Ship Classes, weapons, events, augments and a whole new race.

If you do intend to play this game, then be warned: If you find yourself enjoying this game, then you will soon find it incredibly addicting and infuriating, terrifying and heart-breaking. However one of the biggest falls to this game is how quickly the use of RNG becomes an annoying sensation of "Copy and Paste" and the repetitive feelness of the same scenarios occurring time after time.

In Summary;
This game is a must get. Even if you aren’t a fan of rogue-likes or micro-managing in games, I would still recommend this. The gameplay is innovative and the design is immersive in it’s own 2D way. The variety of mod's and achievements/unlockables also make this game so replayable that at times, it almost becomes second-nature. It's only downsides are it's difficult gameplay and at times it's repetitiveness...

Pro's:
- Detailed & Beautiful Pixel Graphics
- Beautiful Soundtrack (2 Hours Long)
- Unique Gameplay
- Variety in Freedom of Choice
- Good Modding Community

Con's:
- Repetitive Gameplay
- Insane Difficulty Curves
- Overly Addictive & Infuriating

I RECIEVED THIS GAME FOR FREE FROM THE DEVELOPER. THIS IN NO WAY HAS AFFECTED THE REVIEW

Lion Quest (not to be confused with the Lion Cubs scouts program), a quaint indie puzzle-platformer developed and published by “Dracula’s Cave”. It was released on the 11th of July this year and is currently on sale for £8.99 or $11.99 on Steam.

A surprisingly enjoyable yet frustrating little platformer, I found that this game quickly burrowed deeply into my mind after such a short meeting with it. The game has no problem with showing its unique minimalist take on the platformer genre of games whilst simultaneously keeping the game light and upbeat in a Zen like manner.

From the very beginning of playing this game, you will be enraptured with its cute setting. Even with the hidden-depth from behind the scenes, I personally couldn’t help but notice that at every turn, the game would capture me with its cute character designs. And by the time that I would forget about the cuteness in this game, I would hear a new score from the Soundtrack; the combination between modern bit music and Zen style music would leave me relaxed and chilled. As I progressed through the game, I soon noticed that the use and contrast of colours within the expansive and vibrant levels was just as scrumptious as the characters designs leaving a satisfied sensation. The puzzles were just as intriguing as you will find yourself controlling multiple characters at once trying to traverse through the well built and designed levels and puzzles.

One of my favourite features within this game was it’s Zen powers in which the player could pause gravity in a “Force” like manner. I found that this caused a unique interaction between the level design and platforming elements as it forced the player to do more than most puzzle-platformers would normally offer.

However, don’t be fooled, as you carry on through the levels, the game takes a sudden curve in difficulty. Jumps onto molecular sized blocks will soon become normal and the environment will take a turn to becoming hazardous. With these intense portions of the game, I found that the puzzles and platforming elements would lack the fine control that I was expecting; “stuttery” controls and unexpected character movements left me trapped on one part of a level for up to half an hour trying to complete a single jump. Even though that I found the game enjoyable, it also felt repetitive and overly simplistic as the innovation behind the game diminished in the later levels. Lots of sections felt “Copied and Pasted” and the lack of new content made the game have a stale feeling about it.

In Summary;
This game is enjoyable, a simplistic puzzle-platformer that can be played on your own or with friends casually and definitely something to pick up when on sale, if just to experience how nice a game can look without having AAA graphics all of the time and I can definitely see myself coming back to this game again and again when I want to pick up something for a casual half hour or so. However, it is also easy to become bored with the game as it felt overly repetitive and occasionally had poor performing controls.

Pro's:
- Cutesy Styling/Design
- Beautiful Soundtrack (Over an Hour Long)
- Unique Platforming Puzzles
- Very Peaceful & Calm

Con's:
- Repetitive Gameplay
- Stuttery Controls

Counter-Strike is fun to play if you have friends or a team; but is a very difficult and trying experience if you attempt to play on your own. 8/10 For Content.

This game is absolutely amazing. It runs absolutely smoothly on my computer and doesn't leave anything behind. The physic engine works great and the first person shooter element works better than other games. The different game play modes vary from Mutation to Versus and is very unique. Servers are always online and workshop full of maps and other items. It is a game to own. I would reccomend this game to people who like FPS' or zombies.
