This game is great... as a free to play game. The progression system and $30 price tag will make this game die shortly after full release. playing with randoms is often very frustrating because of how much teamwork is required, free to play would make this an easy hurdle to get over.

Like it or not the top match based pvp shooters are free and people already know how to play them. Randoms who don't know what they are doing using only starting equipment are no fun to have on your team.

Also the aim-e pistol is broken and makes being boarded a nightmare

Ive been a beta tester since before the EA launched and i can confirm the devs are very active in acknowledging and fixing bugs. Worlds adrift was one of my favorite games of all time and this game already has brought back some of my favorite elements from it. The Grapple hook in this game is absolutely a blast and worth the price tag all by itself.

Overall this game is definitely worth the money and a fun grind but its story falls flat.

The voice actors for Jeff and his father feel like stand ins, compared to the narrator they sound very amateur and it makes it almost impossible to enjoy the story. As somebody who has a difficult relationship with my father the story could hit a lot harder but it feels like a line reading in a high school drama class. There is zero emotion in the acting even though its supposed to be about something incredibly emotional. this is why my review is a thumbs down. this is probably a bit nitpicky for a 7 dollar game but I almost cant stand it, if this type of game wasn't my bread and butter I would have returned it.

THAT BEING SAID the game play is really good, I've 100%ed Getting Over it, Get to Work, and A Difficult Game About Climbing, I will 100% this game, I think its definitely harder than all those at times especially the bathtub factory and the two sections that follow. the last section is a nice lower stakes section but still a very challenging final chapter. My first run took me 16h 42m and my second took only 2h 32m.

I think the camera controls could be better, like adding a button to hold the camera in place behind the tub. it will also whip around and face forward while driving in reverse and look the wrong direction. Also the Subtitles wont turn off.

Half life but Gordon Freeman has to actually use his engineering degree to survive and learn to use the weapons of his enemies to overcome them. One of the best survival games I've ever played.
