The Fence
I'm taking the stand in defence of the fence
I got a little band playing anthems to ambivalence
We divide the world into terrorists and heroes
Into normal folk and weirdos
Into good people and pedos
Into things that give you cancer
And the things that cure cancer
And the things that don't cause cancer
But there's a chance they will cause cancer in the future
We divide the world to stop us feeling frightened
Into wrong and into right and
Into black and into white and
Into real men and fairies
Into status quo and scary
Yeah we want the world binary, binary
But it's not that simple
But it's not that simple [www.facebook.com]

Frostpunk is an incredibly atmoshperic game. If there's one word to describe it, one aspect that's beyond phenomenal, then it's the atmoshpere.

In Frostpunk, you will most likely start with the scenario and as such be in charge of helping your people survive the end of the world. The winter has come, it's as deadly as feared and it doesn't seem to end. In these conditions, it's your mission to keep a small village alive and help humanity survive.

This game is tense in all the right ways. The soundtrack is simply incredible. Very fittingly, the violins will embark you in a chilly shivers inducing stress and fear. The time is running out, as are any other ressources, and the cold just keeps getting colder.

People keep dying left and right and those that manage to survive will have to be kept well fed, medically treated, housed, motivated, obedient - and it's your job to do that, all the while you've got your hands full with managing shifts to meet deadlines, signing laws, running patrols, exploring the area, studying new tech and most importantly building, expanding and repairing a huge generator that is your only hope to survive.

It's a beautiful game and a very unique city builder. There is a free mode/unlimited scenario in Frostpunk, but it's main charme is definitely the story and the DLCs expanding it. The scenarios are challenging, you will most definitely fail, quite a few times. Each time will leave you motivated, having learned to prioritize better, progressing you not only in the story but also as a player.

Frostpunk is extremely immersive and dark, cold, long, stressful, sometimes anxiety-inducing - it's the perfect cuity builder and survival / strategy game for an apocalyptic scenario.

This being said, it's also strangely comforting and relaxing. The warmth of the heaters translates well beyond the screen.
