This is basically Factorio in 3D, with all that entails. Its slight less complex, and the third dimension means its a little more flexible, this is countered by the fact the map is far more restrictive. Many people end up ignoring it and building out to sea for this reason, but personally I prefer the challenge of building within the constraints.

If your looking for combat, story or procedural generation, this isn't the game for you. But generally the game lives up to its name, it is into hugely satisfying to hit a milestone.

Early Access Review
At time of review I've put nearly 60 hours into a game that cost 209p. Which is ~3.4p per hour of entertainment.

Highly recommended.

Background

Played the original, back when it came out, then once again maybe two years later. Haven't touched it since.

Review

This is what I want from a remaster/remake of a game I haven't played in at least 15 years. It feels like the game I remember and for me that's the most important part. The atmosphere, the store beats, the moments are the same as I remember. The FEELS.

This is from someone who had Mafia as a memory, I can see how if you played it more recently, the new voice acting and models could be jarring, but frankly the discount-Joe Pesci Paulie was always a little too on the nose for me.

It still has the weird Mafia quirks, this is an open world game, sort of. Its basically quite a strict mission based game but you can drive to the missions the way you want. I'd advise driving too, the world is beautiful, and turn the cops to enforcing everything, it makes it way more atmospheric when you have to drive a terrible car at 40.

Now please, please, please give me Hidden and Dangerous!

My favorite PC game of 2012. The expansion put it in the running for my favorite PC game of 2013.

This is a very tight, polished experience. The graphical style is great, the soundtrack is incredible, there is just enough story running through the mainly randomised events to give you the sense of purpose and motivation while not getting in the way.

Enemy Within is a fantastic addon, which changes how you play the campaign (and is entirely optional, you can turn it off and play the orignal). It brings with it a sense of darkness and darker choices.

Highly recommended to anyone who likes a challenge.

Very funny, very silly, and doesn't out stay its welcome.

Lately there have been one of two funny games coming out, and this is another one.

Its a first person game where you take the role of an agent carrying out missions. Each mission takes place in quite a small map, but it is filled with interactions. The majority of which achieved their aim of bringing a smile to my face.

The important thing here is that exploring and interacting is key to getting the best out of the game. This is one of those games where it is possible to "play it wrong". If you just follow the mission objectives you will be done on each level in five minutes. Even exploring everything this game is still not a long experience (about two and a half hours) but personally I don't think funny games should be long, the joke will get old.

On an artistic level this game is fabulous, the music is great and adds to the offbeat sixites robot spy vibe.

This was a good game, but sadly the developer has shut up shop and it runs on GFWL which is shutting down. As it is a multiplayer focused game its really not recommended now.

The DNA of Bullfrog is quite obvious in the game. It has quite a lot in common with Dungeon Keeper. Especially when you consider the subtile of DK3 was going to be War for the Overworld. It's easy to imagine sending your demons up to the surface in the same way you send your spies out into the larger world in this.

In the later game keeping the heat down can be a bit of a chore, but non-lethal traps can work wonders. I've never really found much use for the hotel stuff though.

The sixties spy theme is done really well.
