Great game. Top-down mix of Minecraft and Terraria with a lot of its elements. Great game for everyone.

Bravo Portkey Games, BRAVO! I haven't been able to scratch the "Adventure" itch properly since the first Fable game came out. So many games have tried to capture the same fun aspects that Fable did, and all have fallen short... until this Hogwarts Legacy game. You can tell the Developers cared deeply about making this game. There is a ton of attention to detail and fun little things all over the place. Not to mention the sure size of this game is outstanding. I'm writing this first review at 38 hours played and I'm loving every minute of it. Many games stop getting fun when you have to grind out all the upgrade quests you want or need to do so that you can just play the game easier. While this game has those upgrade side tasks, they don't feel as tedious as other games have done. The puzzles are not overly complicated, but not a breeze either. This game has so much for you to do, but if you choose to not do something, the only thing you're really missing out on is the story and the adventure - and you can focus on those on your next play through if you wanted. I am eagerly awaiting playing through this game a second time with different character and a different play style mindset. It is rare now-a-days that a game is released without 1000 bugs and problems that people are complaining about. I will admit, there are some framerate stability issues and other technical related features I wish to see improvements on in the future, but overall I would say they have set the "game quality upon release bar" way back high again that other studios will need to pay attention to. I look forward to future DLCs and other possible games coming out in this universe that we may get to see as well. Once again, Bravo on making a great game. Keep up the good work Portkey Games.

Yes, and if you played DL1, even more of a yes. However, there are some annoying problems right now, that hopefully are just because its a new game. Nothing game breaking, but just wanted to point them out as well.

Keybindings are my main and almost only complaint for this game. I have no idea why they would have actionable key bindings to skills, but not let you change the keybindings. Some people might not care, but it annoys me when they have actions tied to keys, but don't let you change the key bindings. These are the actions that you cannot change right now.
- Grapple hook is hard bound to ALT
- Stomp is hard bound to F
- [Of note, they have fixed some of this in recent patches, but not everything yet].

There is another warning for anybody new to Dying Light. If you're played DL1 you might remember this as well, but in the beginning of the game, you do feel slow and clunky while traversing the world. You do not start the game right out of the gate with being fast or agile... that comes with playing the game and unlocking your skills. In DL2, this is VERY much the same case, but I think it was done EXTREMELY WELL. When you level up and finally put your skill point into something that makes you climb faster, you REALLY feel the difference and feel a sense of accomplishment. I bring this up because I've seen some other game reviews that complain about the game and how the parkour sucks, but they've only played for like an hour, and hardly have leveled up at all and have not seen any of the new skills.

Don't get attached to weapons. Everything will break. However, it is no where near as bad as everything breaking quickly in DL1. In DL1 especially in the beginning, I was always having to switch weapons mid fight because everything broke so quickly, and some times in the game, my last weapon would break and I'd have to run to safety to mess with my inventory. In DL2, weapons do break, but weapons seem to be found quite commonly, and it hasn't been an issue for me. And once you start getting upgrades, you can use your item until about half its durability, then put in a mod to repair it a bit. I've had some weapons with me for a couple of hours before I had to get rid of them.

Glider is sooo much fun. Takes a while to get to if you do all the side quests. I would recommend sticking to the main story quest until you get your glider though. The entire game changes once you get that. Sooo much fun. Also, I've never died so often but man is it awesome to play with.

The story in this game is amazing so far. There are main and side quests that have hard choices to left or right. Sometimes that means you side with a different faction, others might me you kill or let somebody die. I really like that they've done so far with it. There is way more story here in DL2 than there was in DL1. I've even done some "quests" that were literally sitting and talking with an NPC for 5min. I didn't have to go on a mission for the person, the quest was just to talk to the person. Nice and quick, but a bit of a fun side jog from the main story. I do wish that these choices had more impacts though, or that there would be more than just a couple of choices to go with.

As for bugs, I haven't found any game breaking bugs. The main thing I mentioned already was the keybinding problem I have, but I already talked about that. Here are the only bugs I have noticed so far.
-- There was a quest I had to meet an NPC at to complete, but he wasn't there during the day or night. I went and did other things and came back in another play through and checked again and was able to finish the quest. So it might have just been fixed by logging out and back in again.
-- I have unlocked a small safe house area, but it didn't show on the map that I unlocked it. I'm pretty sure I died and respawned there though, so I think this is just a graphical glitch.
-- Most big base areas have a store vendor and a tinker person. There was one time I was walking to the store vendor, and the icon over their head changed to a tinker, thus now having two tinkers in the base, so I couldn't look at weapons or armor to buy at that location.
-- I have had a couple odd deaths related to falling through the world. One was opening a cage of an NPC being hung, and it through the walls of a building and floor, but then I somehow glitched back to normal ground and didn't die. But another time I opened a cabinet and got flung through the ground floor of the building and died from fall damage.

All in all though, this game is VERY fun to play in single player. Playing multiplayer in DL1 was one of my favorite games I have ever CO-OP games I have ever played. I cannot wait to play with some people in DL2. I think it will be even more fun.

Yes, BUT ..... only if its super cheap and on sale. Its still a decent game to play through, as leveling is fun, and it is a Torchlight game and all. But DO NOT PAY FULL PRICE FOR THIS GAME. If they finally fix this game, I'll come and change my comments, but since its been a couple years, I doubt we'll ever see the game we wanted to see in Torchlight 3.

Torchlight games have a lot of cool ideas that they bring to the table. Torchlight 2 was a nearly perfect game and was fun through multiple playthroughs. However, Torchlight 3 feels completely unfinished, even after it has been out for years. They have some really cool innovative ideas that would be SOO FUN to play with if only they were properly finished. It feels like they got a rough outline built out in the game (for a lot of things) and then forgot to finish them or decided not to. And in many areas, they seem to have forgotten that Torchlight is known for creating cool new features and ideas for RPG games and in this game they feel like they regressed back into childhood and don't understand RPGs anymore. Here are some examples:
-- Vendors: really, the last city in the story line in the game has vendors that sell the same exact things as the first city. They don't even have a vendor that sells higher quality gear than whites. Yeah, they have a gambler, but you don't find much gold so not many people are going to waste their gold on gambling. I tried a couple of times and again, all I got were whites.
-- Map Overlay Glitch: The minimap and map overlay are nearly broken all the time. When you first log in you'll be able to use the map overlay, but if you play for about 5-10 minutes, this will break and become unavailable and you can only get it back by leaving the game and coming back in. Navigation around a map is incredibly hard without this. Yes, there is the actual map screen you can still pull up, but you can't use that and fight at the same time.
- Party Members on map: You have a really short range to see where your party members are. If you literally walk half a screen away, you cannot see each other on the map. This is SOOO frustrating trying to play with people because you lose track of each other and it just increases the frustration 1000% and is also primarily the main reason my daughter doesn't play this game for more than 30min before she gets too frustrated and gives up on this game for another one.
-- And the MOST ANNOYING (feature?) in the game is the loot dropping. As with many RPGs, you run through till you find a boss or miniboss, kill them and grab loot, and run along. SOOO MANY times I have killed a guy, walked away, then hear loot dropping from his corpse. So I run back pick up the loot then run away and then all the gold starts dropping off of his corpse. This game on purpose makes you sit around a boss you killed for at minimum 10 seconds while you stand around waiting for your loot. This happens on EVERYTHING. So there really is no such thing as a farming runs in this game because its more of a "hurry up and wait" run.
-- Endgame: All they did was take a slightly different approach to the end game concepts from TL1 and TL2 and then called it good. It could have been amazing with just a little bit more thought though. Your basecamp for instance could have been expanded. There is a tower you cannot go into. I was sure that would unlock when you beat the game, but no. It would also be cool to maybe expand into another section, but no. I thought there would be more crafting available at end game, but all you get is enchanting. The only crafting you get is doodads for your fort. Common, most every RPG has some way to even craft crappy weapons yourself. They could have easily put plans into the game that you could farm for to make weapons and armor in, maybe even with custom stats.

It makes me wonder if it were just rushed for release, but after it being out for a couple years and still these problems exist, to me if feels like they have abandoned this game, which is sad, but Torchlight 2 was nearly perfect in my eyes and WAYYYY more fun to play than this game. My two kids both agree as well.

This is one of the few games I originally played through multiple times. It was a blast. Seeing the new graphics updates in this game were pretty awesome. Still a tone of fun to play. However, with this game I encountered glitches and bugs that I've never seen before. Nothing too game breaking, but having your sound glitch while driving such as the nitro or tire squealing sound getting stuck really took the fun out of driving in this game... and that was some of the best parts of the game.

Kudos to the original driving mechanics of this game though. Though COMPLETELY NOT realistic, it was fun to drive. And its a game, so it should be fun. I wish the driving mechanics in CP77 were as good as this.

Within the first game I knew this game was Awesome. Super nice community. Can be a relaxing play through or OMGBBQROFLCOPTER adrenaline rush of a round. So whatever you're looking for, this game has. This game keeps pulling me every so often. This will be a game I could play over and over and not get too tired over. Missions may be similar, but NEVER are they the same because there is always something different. 10/10 would buy again, and look forward to buying any expansion packs if they ever come out with any. They have earned my trust and have not let me down.

First off, any game that has this big of a demo to try it out before you buy (like in the good ol' days) gets at least 5 brownie points ahead of anybody else. Super kudos to you guys. BRAVO ZULU. Hazaaaa!!!

The storyline of this game is GREAT. Absolutely loved the story in this game and each of the characters you meet you learn to love or hate. Very well written.

As for game mechanics, there are not that many 3rd person cover shooters out there. But this one takes it further and rewards you for playing aggressively. If you want to just play casually, you'll still have fun, but if you keep ranking up and leveling up the difficulty, the gear rewards you continue to get make it totally worth it and draw you in more. Amazing idea for difficulty/rewards, and the play style of each character class type is very awesome. They tried to make something for every person's play style. Normally I play things pretty safe, but some of these classes that will get you killed and you NEED to rush forward and lay the smack down on some guys just to heal yourself. Its an awesome idea.

I wanted to force myself to play solo through the story with my first character, but what little I have played with multiplayer is soooo much more fun and interesting. Great game for single player, but even a better game if you have some friends to jump in with you.

I'm definitely looking forward to the future of this game and what extras will be coming to continue telling the story.

This game came out about 2 years ago. I took off a week from work during the holidays and spent a good majority of the time playing this game. Got to the end game and then there were too many game breaking bugs and lack of content that I took a break.

I then came back to it almost a year and a half later to start playing during the wasteland update, and was VERY pleased that most of the game breaking bugs were fixed.... but there were still a lot of bugs. I spend another good 100+ hours playing it again though and overall it was fun. It was just heavily seasoned with frustrations here and there.

Base building has been very much improved, but it was increasingly frustrating to try and build a base with show cases of items I've collected around the wasteland, but then it was taking up huge amounts of my stash. I was torn between wanting to continue my collection, and being able to play the game and save good weapons and armor that are actually impactful , rather than just the foo foo stuff.

With this new update, it opens the door to a lot less frustration. You now have an underground bunker you can put all of your stuff in that you want. I plan on putting all the work benches and other practical items in the bunker right where I teleport in. And then this will allow me to build purely cosmetic bases that look cool. I don't know if they have expanded the stash sizes yet to make inventory management better, but I'm still going to give this new expansion a try.

If you're looking at picking this game up, I would not recommend paying full price for it. After 2 years and there are still the same glitches that have not been fixed (ex: If you have to change key bindings, you have to change one, leave the menu, then go back in to change one more. If you try to change too many at the same time you can't change any keys at all.... its just... glitchy). Is this game fun and worth playing, I think absolutely so. It is a fun game through and through and totally worth picking up. Just keep in mind to have patience because it is salted with annoyances here and there.

The TL;DR summary would probably be, "This is the most frustrating game I REALLY want to like and play, but in the end I still play it".

Its a bit on the slow pace... and this game is definitely more fun with other people to play with for sure. But all in all, this is a fun game so far.

This is the very definition of what a free to play game should be. My whole family plays this game and we're all having a blast. Other developers should look at this games a model of what other free to play games with in-game transactions should be like. This is the gold standard and I support everything they do.
