Glad I waited till the 2.0 patches to play. 13 hours in and not a single issue. Highly recommend picking up the game and giving it a go now they have put some patches behind the awful release.

Balatro is a deck builder with a unique twist: the goal is to form poker hands and survive through to Ante 8. As the game progresses, the blinds become increasingly difficult, challenging you to balance resources and make strategic decisions.

Every run is filled with tough choices:

* Do you skip a blind to earn $20 after defeating the boss blind, knowing you can’t access the store until then?

* Do you invest in boosters to expand your deck, jokers to enhance your engine, planet cards to upgrade your hand levels, tarot cards for powerful one-off effects, spectral cards for high-impact actions with drawbacks, or tickets to alter the run entirely?

The game combines deep strategy with the simplicity of poker, creating an experience that’s both accessible and thought-provoking. It’s like if a video poker machine had a love child with Slay the Spire.

Highly recommended for fans of deck builders, poker, or anyone who loves a clever twist on familiar mechanics.

One of the best fighting games I have played.
The easy to pickup but hard to master combo system make it very fun for people like myself who enjoy fighting games but are not the best at them but still enjoy them.
