Here's the quick review of the game, I can't bother writing out a full review:
Updates as patches for the game are released

The Good
:- Some simple systems that allow for massive skill depth
- Variety in weapons and ways to play.
- High skill ceiling!
- Great gore and good sound design!
- Beautiful maps and fun character design (real goofy with 3rd party software)!
- Lots of cosmetic progression!
- Character customization with voices.
- There seems to be more communication with the community than before - surveys, feedback forum posts etc.

The 'you decide' part
- Big learning curve, harder now that fewer players are present, and those who are, are better.
- Team damage and killing happens in the chaotic gamemodes
- Small non-cosmetic progression (No P2W)
- Doesn't have the same degree of swing manipulation that chivalry had.
- Microtransactions in the forms of customization (armor skins, weapon skins etc.)
- Ranked Ladder is stagnating so much if you hit high levels - it basicly says nothing of player level; most of it is empirical gained through watching people play in skirmishes and tournaments; some wonderful people are working on a better ranked mode that is smarter and quicker!

♥♥♥♥
- The choice of color (red) for one of the teams usually leads to some unfortunate scenarios for casuals, where the color of the blood hides the blue color of temmates. Can be annoying. I think they should alter the red team color. (Not a huge ♥♥♥).
- High end comp is stagnating a lot (currently in a near-death scenario). (Note; this would be largely irrelevant if you are just looking to play the game for fun!).
- Lack of Competetive maps, gamemodes and incentives to play comptetively! This ties into the above.

Upcoming
- No clue, who the hell knows anymore. I don't really follow this anymore. Presumably some more maps and DLCs

Recently added:
- Cosmetics (some in DLC)
- new Voices (DLC)

Get it if you like stupid fun, especially if you can get a friend to tag along - otherwise not too hard to find weirdos in the game to play with.

*Some thoughts*
I kickstarted Mordhau, and spent a lot of hours in the alpha, beta and after release. The game for me was a lot of fun and challenge, as I had to compete with veterans from the previous game from which Mordhau spawned - Chivalry. After launch, a lot of frustration rose wihin the competetive community due to lack of attention from the devs regarding competetive maps / modes & balance. Overall, development updates were slow (also in the alpha/beta). Therefore, the competetive community has been stalling for a very long time (a few years, I'd say), though some are trying to keep it alive (skalagrad).

Ultimately the game is best for the casual player, despite the game being super brutal to casual (new) players. What am I trying to say? Idk, if you decide to join in, be prepared to be absolutely dominated by current players, as this game relies a lot on reaction and muscle memory, and can take a long time to learn the different techniques for doing well - though there is a lot of fun to be had, if you go in with the right mindset.
