Talos principle takes everything that made the first game good and amplifies it. better graphics, puzzles that while familiar, still demand the same level of critical thinking and proper exploration to be solved, and (after the first hour) optional dialogue that you can participate in.

As for playtime, the previous game took me about 15 hours to complete on my first playthrough and I'm currently halfway to total completion as i write this review, but as anyone familiar with the first Talos principle, the final stretch to the finish line will have you trying your hardest.

OVERALL: Whether you are new to the Talos principle or a returning player from the first game, Talos principle 2 offers much to the prospective player who enjoys a good challenge, or the kind who likes to take their time and explore a beautifully crafted world, and read and listen to every piece of fulfilling lore. The game will give you a guide to reach the end, but most will enjoy spending their time on each level uncovering every secret, and they will be rewarded greatly for doing so.

Interesting concept, but none of the levels particularly took very much thinking to figure out. I found the number of levels and the difficulty both lacking which is unfortunate, but one of the best mistakes a puzzle game can make because they can always release more in the future. if you are looking for a puzzle game as someone who enjoyed titles like portal or the Talos principle, you may want to pass on this one. otherwise, it's a great game.

honestly, a friend bought this for me since he had been playing for a while and could get all the new ops with his current renown. getting a year pass when you know you will be playing the entire year is really worth it, ive already saved close to 20k renown unlocking all the year one and two operators (the discount from the pass stacks with the current Y2 operator discount, 1.8k instead of 2.5) so if you plan on playing alot and dont have most of the operators unlocked, get a pass. ive gotten 12 new operators in the past 2 months alone.

so many different ways to play, so many things to do, even better with a friend, once you have finished a game or maybe even before, add some mods from the giant list of them and most of them work with eachother, people make mods all the time so you never get bored. creator of the game is always updating, always new things, really just endless potential. i have nearly 150 hours at the time im writing this review and i wont be suprised if that number surpasses 300 before im done with this game. only bad part is that the fan base could be bigger but if you have a friend or two thats all you really need.

ive never had so much fun making other people salty and killing people in almost any way possible, including goomba stomping peoples heads in to strapping a giant barrel of explosives to my back and being launched out of a catapult at the enemy walls. if you like games that make you go into an adrenaline frenzy in which you hack and slash your enemies to death in a moshpit of chaos and blood, or maybe building (almost) unbreachable fortifications for your team to defend your flag, or maybe you like lighting people on fire from the other side of the map with fire arrows. if you fit into any of these catagories, good for you. if you dont, good for you. either way you should probably buy this game.

(edit:
the community is great and all, but theres so many toxic players now its not worth your time playing, fun at first but after a while it gets pretty bad)
(edit again:
i like the new approach to the updates made in the game, much more community feedback involved, so i changed my rating again)
(edit for the third time:
nothings changed, the admin to player ratio is like 1:2 and now theyve made it so you cant see whos admin to hide this, if you start playing now dont expect to ever be as good as the current players that have been playing for 6+ years, its one of the games where you had to devote your entire life to the day it came out and play always. i want to like it but really its playing against the same people over and over and over and over. you will find no joy in this game, only pain and suffering. so if you like having your ♥♥♥♥ chopped off by admins then this is the game for you.)
((edit^2)^2: i dont even know anymore...)
