This game builds and expands on the gameplay from DOOM 2016. There is more platforming, more glory kills, more mayhem. My only complaint is that there is no multiplayer Deathmatch (as of Mar 2020). It can take a while to adjust to the "combat loop" but it's very satisfying once you've mastered it.

Faithful recreation of the board game. The only issue I have is that there's no "undo" button at the time of writing (Dec 2019). I hope they release the expansions for this. Presentation and overall quality is good.

Early Access Review
It feels like Alliance of Valiant Arms with a vague cyberpunk skin thrown on it. It's like those Korean Counter-strike clones that focus on grinding "unlocks" and have psuedo-RPG mechanics: at the end of the match you're given small token "exp boosts" while you work to unlock extra weapon attachments or skins. All of the maps that I played had were Arena-like, encouraging either COD-style "run around in a circle and shoot the respawners in the back" or highly linear maps that encourage camping chokepoints. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but as a huge GITS fan it's disappointing to see such an unimaginative iteration.

Note: all of my playtime was during the free weekend last month.
