It is an awesome game, sadly it can't be enjoyed thoroughly due to a number of factors.

Hell, one factor. Chinese players which are abusing hacks.

The developer doesn't seem to care, or they would be more aggressive in their anti-cheat coding, instead of relying on community reports.

In a day and age of countless rehashes and of saturation, comes a game that grabs you and 20 hours later you're hungry, thirsty and your bottom is sore from sitting.

Rimworld has the elements of base building intertwined with resource gathering and there's also an RPG element in there (You have a major say in how colonists develop their skills).

You fight the hostile environment, you fight fire, wild animals and violent invaders which want your resources and will kill your colonists for it. You research, you learn from mistakes and you build a better base, an ever expanding base for which there are no rules - your own imagination is the limit, and you have absolute freedom in organizing and optimizing your structures for efficiency, hazardness or sometimes, hilarity.

It's unique in the sense that micromanagement tends to get tedious in base building games - not here: Micro managing and tweaking, and adjusting and changing is half the fun, especially since by the time you have changed something, there's another crisis in some other part of your base.

You will find yourself abusing the time speeding feature, then alternating between paused and normal speed for hours on end.

If you like base building games (don't know why, but Outpost comes to mind), then you should definetely check this one out.

It is keeping me glued to the PC for hours on end, sometimes playing through an epic adventure for days on end.

I give it a solid 9/10.

There are better WW2 fps games out there.

This? This is a lamentable console port, from UI to movement and controls.

The game is fun enough, but the devs have made it close to impossible for newbies to "survive" aka get enough credits. You fight most battles with a penalty to your wallet, so esentially, if you are less gifted and do not have 2.0 K/D ratio, you will remain without credits.

Sad state of affairs. I have leveled a German soldier until lvl 5, but the game is geared to make you buy gold. Devs could learn from World of Tanks, where spending money is fun (premium tanks, yay), and totally not induced or affecting your ability to play.
