A clear upgrade to the first version adding biomes and tech trees as the main upgrades among other smaller upgrades. The developer truly cares about the game and when I reached out to him on discord I had my issue responded to in 2 minutes, and resolved within 20.
The game has idle factors but if you're obsessive you can find things to do or optimize in between long boat voyages or waiting on island battles to finish. Overall a very strong game to passively play.

This game is pretty much the ultimate roguelike city builder. Personally I don't enjoy the late-game of city builders where your logistics are backed up or the population hits a death loop. This game if you hit one of those snags you will likely just lose the run. Against the Storm hits the best parts of starting a new city, progressing it to mid/late game, and then you complete your tasks and the city is "retired" in that you can still trade with it until the storm. The upgrades and leveling between runs is very smooth. If you like settlement games this one is a 10/10

This is my first time playing Blood Bowl and while I so badly want to say that I enjoy the game, I can't.
The menu is incredibly horrid to move through.
The controls/ui in game are horribly unintuitive.
There is a reocurring bug where the game will freeze for one player and the match is dead in the water leaving you forced to forfeit. We attempted to play an in house tournament and all 3 matches in our first round got soft-locked. Rage inducing that there is no reconnect, or re-check of the game state between the machines in the match.
Allegedly there are races not in the game either that have been in previous versions, may give BB2 a shot if it works better than this.

I hope they fix this buggy mess because when the game works we have had a blast.

EDIT: Adding in more bugs as I come across them. I was playing the campaign and the AI got stuck on a push move during the game. Forcing me to wait out the entire extra time for the opponent, essentially another soft-lock.

The game in its current state is fairly barebones and glitchy, but if the Devs stick to a decent timeline and combine content updates with bug fixes it will turn out to be an amazing game.

Give it time.
