Buckshot Roulette is a very interesting game. This concept is genius and I believe the developer did a great job bringing it to life! Some of the item descriptions felt a little too vague... Especially the inverter, I initially thought it meant it would hit the opposite person. The adrenaline also doesn't mention that it can wear off while using it which would've been nice to know.

Overall though beyond smaller nitpicks, this game is very creative and well designed. I'd love to see more added to it! (Or a sequel? maybe?) but some nice additions would be the ability to look back on past runs, different challenge modes, the ability to lock out certain items or buff/debuff yourself for a run, more items, ect. Lots that could be done! In it's current state it's fun for a few hours, and I do find myself coming back too it pretty often, but It feels a bit like a minigame. For the price though, definitely worth it.

I really loved Lovely Planet! As a former speedrunner (barely) I always appreciate when games lean into additional challenges to keep it fresh. The bonus stars for perfect accuracy and getting a fast time were amazing! I didn't know you could get the stars separately until after I 100%'d the game lmao, so I forced myself to get the time and the accuracy in one go :,)
I will say though, the difficulty creep was surprising. I blew past the three star requirements for all of the first worlds, but once it got to world 3+ it definitely took some time. Especially in the mountains (world 5) I had to come back to it after an extended break to finish off that one.The secrets helped balance that out though! Having something special to scavenge for in a lot of the levels was really cool! I think it added a lot to the game, very good decision to add a ton of those.

Overall I will definitely be playing Lovely Planet 2! I will definitely take a break xD but I will play it at some point that's for sure. What a wonderful game, and a great pickup for anyone who enjoys arcade games, fps games, or even just enjoys going for fast times on a leaderboard! Love it!

Pony Island is great! I enjoyed it greatly! That being said, it played it's hand pretty early with the plot twist. I don't think that was a bad choice, it gives the player something to latch onto interest wise. However I found that it made many of the later events in the story a lot less impactful or intriguing than the opening act.
The tickets were a perfect difficulty for easter egg style collectables. However the questions you ask to find out your past felt a bit obtuse. The actual questions and where you ask them were fine! Just the fact you had to do it mulitple times felt like a weird choice.
Finally, I loved the secret final boss of the hopeless soul I haven't watched any lore videos or anything yet but I'd love to see peoples take on that character. I will say though, I was let down that there was no extra final boss or event or anything for finding out your past, nothing! I was also really hoping to walk around in the arcade or at least learn a bit more about all that

That all being said, wonderful game! Short but sweet and well worth the time and money, I have my criticisms and the game has it's flaws but it's a great game nonetheless :)
If you think it'll interest you, It likely will.

Fantastic game, but a terrible port. Thankfully I have another way to play this masterpiece, but exclusively PC players will likely be very annoyed by the janky controls, terrible sound mixing, controller issues, if the game even launches at all considering that's an issue some players are having.
I wish this game was given better treatment as it truly is a work of art. But I do not recommend playing this PC port, play it any other way if possible.

This is the perfect game for the non-existent 'meh' rating. Great concept, overall decent execution, solid voice acting, and a very unique view/style of play. That being said, the beginning of the game was much much more well done than the mid/late game. Unraveling the mystery during the first hour or so is a blast! Extremely interesting. Sadly the rest of the game hardly meets this expectation. I don't think the rest of the game is bad persay, but it's definitely weaker. It degrades to an insane amount of trial and error that drains the fun out of the mystery. And the ending... is what it is...
If this type of game interests you, go ahead and get it. I think it was a good use of my time and it was rather interesting, however if you're looking for the next best game, this isn't that.

I knew I'd like this game just from what I saw... But I didn't know I'd LOVE it. It truly feels like everything I wanted mirror's edge to be. The overall aesthetics and soundtrack add so much to the experience. Customizable upgrades (done in a very unique way), comparing times/deaths to people on your friends list after each level, different gamemodes with tons of features. This game has so much love poured into it and it's clear from every part of the game.
The game isn't without it's weaknesses. Enemies mostly stay still and the few that don't feel extremely annoying, would've loved to see more movement/realistic integration (kinda like you see later in the game with the creepy crawly guys. The story is decent, but could've been fleshed out more (and a lil longer). Couple of slight jank things in terms of movement but it was minimal and not all that frustrating. The couple of bosses were alright, not sure how I would've improved them but I feel like it could've been done a little better.
Overall, one of the best games I played in quite a while. Highly recommend it.
If you like the idea of being a cyborg ninja samurai that feels like if you were in a cyberpunk version of mirrors edge... then buy it asap.
oh also you have a grappling hook so GOTY.

One of those games I wish there was an inbetween rating for :/
This game is rather dated. It's one of the those rare games that it's attempt at what we know as the modern fps format was legendary at the time, but has caused it to be left in the dust as time moves on. If it were even older I feel like it wouldn't feel this way (goldeneye/doom) but sadly it does.
That being said I played it without accessing the console whatsoever, so i didn't noclip to get out of spots where i'd get stuck in the wall or if there was a bug or anything. Played it totally vanilla. And If that's how you choose to play it then my rating should be Not Recommended instead. That playstyle truly reveals how much wrong there is in this game. I got glitches or stuck in the wall damn near a hundred times by the end of the game. Extremely frustrating. It was overall an enjoyable experience when it functioned however. And I think the overall world and story was worth playing, pretty neat. But I won't be playing it again, at least not in this format. I am excited to move on to the second game as it will be my first time seriously playing that game all the way through.

tldr; Great game for the time, but it's dated of course. Lots of bugs... Don't repeat my mistake and just use the console if you end up getting stuck or run into a game halting bug.

Played this around Halloween cause I thought it was supposed to be scary...
At first it definitely did freak me out, but as I played I got scared less and got intrigued a ton more. Very similar to Subnautica in that way I'd say (which is one of my favorite games). This game went from mainly focusing on the spooky scary atmosphere to a beautifully written story with interesting and in-depth characters. Not to mention the weapons and powers we're a blast! So many unique ways to tackle each situation made the entire game continuously feel fresh and interesting. Definitely one of my favorite games I played this year (at least) and I now understand why I've heard it be called a hidden gem so many times. Love it :)

This game is exactly what I needed when I played it, and from what I've seen it seems like many people feel similarly...
A Short Hike is exactly what the name implies, but it subliminally teaches you so much.
It really helped me submerse in a wholesome world and I walked out of it feeling like a more complete person in all honesty.
And more than anything else, it inspired me to start hiking regularly xD so that's definitely a bonus lmao

Definitely the best use of $8 I can think of even to this day.

I gave a review for the original game of Subnautica when I fully finished that beautiful game.
To summarize, I felt the gameplay was very well done, the story was near perfect, and it's biggest strength was it's atmosphere/sound design, with it's ending being overall pretty good.

In Subnautica: Below Zero, After having fully finished THIS beautiful game; I believe that the gameplay is better in some areas and worse in others, the story was weaker in some areas but also how it expanded upon the original's story as a direct sequel was literally jaw dropping at times, it's atmosphere was ever so slightly weaker... but it's quality use of land segments/weather more than made up for that and it's sound design was just as strong, and it's ending... was literally a 10/10 ending, better than anything I could have expected or planned, I was so enthralled around the end that I actually stared at my screen inches from my face at the end of the credits praying for their to be ANY additional info on this world.

Overall this was a case of a sequel that left me wanting in some areas, but absolutely too the moon floored in others. I wouldn't say it tops the original for me, but it definitely, DEFINITELY holds a massive place in my heart in it's own right.

And if you're curious as to what I think about the original (or more about the game rather than just it's place as a sequel) feel free to look at the reviews for the original. But as a sequel, this is a very strong one, and a game that i'll remember fondly for years to come.
