Big Civ fan here. Have played a full play through all the ages and have about 14 hours in the game. They are many great aspects to this game and has incredible potential to be an amazing game once the community has it’s input and the devs make the necessary changes.

I’ve seen many reviews talking about new features and changes that they don’t like but at the end of the day, changes and developments allow for games like these to evolve and bring fresh energy to an already established franchise. If you’re reading these reviews debating whether to get the game I would say go ahead. You’ll notice some things that need to be changed and some things that work and feel amazing but optimistically, the development are already implementing changes and are gathering community feedback to improve the game for late.

What you’ll no doubt find by reading reviews is that the UI is lacking and needs enhancements to provide more in depth details to match the more in depth playstyle the game offers. Some basic gameplay features seem to have been missed, perhaps to accommodate the cross-platform development (for example: auto explore, end of turn audio, quick movement/combat). The game needs refinement but for the most part, an enjoyable and beautiful game. The graphics team have done an amazing job creating a colourful and pretty world.

Great game, especially if you want to kill hitler many, MANY times!!! :)
