Models on the left are the result of me swapping textures with SubMaterial while the models on the right are unaltered.
I think the default/casual models look the way they are because I think their materials were modified to fit in better with the Splatoon 1/Enhanced style? Just a guess. Either way, those skin colours just appear better in Gmod compared to the current skin textures for the CvO models.
2. Really? They've always been that way and nobody complained about it. The skin colour just looks rather off to me with these ones. I'll take a screenshot to show my point.
The only one who tried to fix that was Majora with their SFM ports, and so I copied their materials. But I guess Gmod users will never know that, and the default and casual Gmod ports won't get their skin materials fixed any time soon. I will have to adapt to them I suppose.
(Agreed though, Marina probably looks too bright. But what's wrong with Pearl and why do I have to retexture her?)
Well. About "bip_root", I didn't know that would be a problem. I just left the skeleton as it was. I can try shifting the bip_root higher to the models' pelvises.
1. I have no idea how to fix the central root bones for the Ragdoll Mover. I had the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem with some else ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Nintendo model for Gmod, I couldn't fix it, and I felt so terrible, because I didn't help a friend with that. I can't even comprehend how bip_skl_root could DISTORT a model, since it's a PARENT bone for almost the entire skeleton.
(Aside from "bip_root" that actually is a parent for the whole skeleton.)
1. Fix the bip_skl_root bone when using Ragdoll Mover tool on them as it currently distorts the models when turning them quite a bit.
2. Use the skin textures of Marina from her default and casual models because her skin in this one does not look right at all. Same goes for Pearl, but since she's got the arrow face paint on, you're gonna have to retexture the face and eye textures to reflect Pearl's original skin colour. The duo's eyeball texture are darker too whereas the default and casual models had lighter eyeball textures.
3. The bip_root bone is placed below them rather than in between their hips like other models. It's really annoying when I'm trying to move the character with the Ragdoll Mover when the placement of that particular bone is in a place where it normally wouldn't be.
However, there are some issues with them, some major and some minor. Would you mind if I list them?
