Where do I even begin?

Haven't played Half-Life? Probably the pen-ultimate experience next to the original Half-Life ( Not Source ).
Have played Half-Life? Play this immediately.
Played the original alpha and beta of this? Play it again, they've changed a lot since then.

It keeps such fine attention to detail from the original.
It doesn't go crazy with fan theories.
It looks at what Valve originally intended to convey with scenery, dialogue, landscapes, encounters, and executes it to the letter.
It takes what Valve considers to be their greatest disappointment ( Xen ) and does a complete redo, giving it life and meaning.
Levels that used to be a slog are remade and considerably better.
It's so good, I consider it an official Valve product and endorsement despite being fan-made. I cried a few times just from the nostalgia and how they nailed the old feelings alone.

Please play this.

This is a great game, but I cannot recommend it. Yes, I have barely any hours played compared to others, and I play pretty casually from time to time with some friends, but please understand that my reluctance to continue playing comes from this experience.

During the recent Crow event I had happened to use some paid reliquary items. I had used 3 big boxes ( $10 each ) during the start of the match, and within 5 minutes the entire match's participants had been disconnected. This was confirmed to be an issue on Crytek's side that the entirety of their servers in the US had gone offline and were attempting to resolve it. I sent in a ticket to support to either get a partial refund or at least get something back for the loss of my event points.

Regardless of my requests I received no reply and no traction, that was until I received an update today after 2 months of silence indicating that I had wasted my time and money playing this game. They "understand" that this is an ongoing issue that happens even today and yet will do nothing if you're affected by this.

We are unfortunately aware that this might have been a possibility with how the system was implemented, and we are looking into possible solutions for future events.

Please note that if you activated the Reliquary yourself and then crashed/disconnected, the other players will receive anyway the items. Similarly, If you received a reward and crashed in the same match you will receive the rewards after the next match you will play.

We cannot sadly reimburse lost event points.

We are really sorry for the inconvenience that this might have caused for you, and if you have any other question or feedback we are here at any time.

Knowing this, I cannot recommend this game if you intend on spending any money on it, if you play for free, have fun and enjoy the Hunt. Otherwise stay clear of this one.
