I got up at the quack of dawn. This was the day that I would finally quack the case. For too long, this duckter had evaded us, but not this time. We had concrete proof that his tax deducktions were illegitimate and that he was giving his patients quack cocaine. I don't know why he did it, he's got money for his bills. I guess he might just be quackers. Maybe all those crime duckumentaries went to his head. But all that would come to an end.

The weather was fowl, like something out of a Count Duckula adaptation. But there he was, standing on the disused viaduckt, just as we planned. I approached him carefully. You see, for six months I had been working with him, allowing him to think he had inducktrinated me into his way of thinking. But he had been fooled. This was the day where it would all end; there were no quacks for him to fall through.

The exchange went swimmingly at first as he attempted to induckt me further into his criminal scheme. He even wanted me to abduckt someone to use as a mule. But he saw my repulsion at that suggestion and he knew something was off. He ran, and I gave chase. He jumped off the viaduckt and moved quickly across an aquaduckt and into a padduck, but there was nowhere to run. He even tried to distract me with some firequackers; he was clearly desperate.

He knew he couldn't deny anything, so he went straight to anger. He yelled at me, claiming that it was fowl play and that I betrayed him. True as it was, I was unmoved. So he went to bargaining, promising me his boat down by the duck if I let him go. Tempting as it was, I was unmoved. Then there was depression, and by that point it was over, he never reached acceptance.

After I bound his hands in duck tape, I smiled to myself; another case quacked. When I got home, I browsed through Netflix, I could watch The Nutquacker, some pirate film about the quacken, or maybe just nothing at all. What I really needed to do, after a long, hard day's work, was to play Duck Game.
