Now if I'm honest, I'm going to go on a rant here.

[rant]
Now although this has been an excellent rail simulation game since I bought it back in the RailWorks 2 days, and have spent many hundreds of pounds worth of DLCs. However the last few years has been a significant downfall for DumbFail Gaymes (who I shall call here).

DFG has recently decided to start ripping off customers for various reasons:

Too many variants of 1 loco - they've decided to release 5, yes 5 variants of the Class 66. I mean, who needs 5 SEPERATE variants of the Class 66, when you can shove the whole loot in a bundle instead, charge it £15 for 5 liveries, I'm happy.

Unscenerized parts of routes - it seems that recently, DFG have decided to limit the scenario possibilities by releasing routes with limited/no scenery on sections of it. Take a look at the ECML-S route for example, they included the Hertford Loop track and signaling, but no scenery? This is absurd! Goodness knows how many more scenarios we could've seen in the Workshop. But no, they decide all they want is the £££. This is exactly what they did with the Sheerness Branch for London-Faversham, leave out the scenery, then added the scenery items over several updates, then charge £12 JUST TO ADD THE SCENERY IN. Oh, and added a Class 466 in.

Lack of effort - this is a big notice in recent releases. Their favourite motto in house is "Let's rip off the customers, recycle everything!". This has been very evident in some releases. For example, look at the Class 365 passenger view. I think many people were thinking they were going to use a whole new view, or re-use the Class 465 passenger view and reskin it a bit. But oh no, they didn't. They decided to recycle the Class 166 passenger view, which is how old? FROM RAIL SIMULATOR DAYS OH GOD. The quality of that pass view is awful, it's like they've stuck several pieces of cardboard together and added some adverts. It's even noticeable that it's from the Great Western Link 166, as the logo is on one of the ads in the passenger view.
Another good use of recycling is the Class 321 sounds. Now, what were DFG THINKING OF?! They decided to use the 455 sounds, which is ok I suppose, but just cover your ears when it comes to the doors. Oh dear, what a disaster. They decided, to use an 1938 UNDERGROUND train, for the door sounds. I'm sorry, but the 321 didn't exist in 1938, so why use sounds from a 1938 train then?!

Terrible customer support - I've read various posts on forums complaining about DFG's support. It seems that their staff know absolutely little of the base game whatsoever. Now for some issues, clearing the blueprint cache, or verifying the game cache won't 100% fix your problem. It could be a core issue, of which DFG need to fix. And that is exactly what I'm going to go into next, bugs and issues.

Bugs and issues - It seems that every year when a new core update is released, more and more bugs creep out of nowhere. It seems that DFG's attitude falls to the community to fix these bugs. There are some bugs which have been in the game for years, which STILL hasn't been fixed. An example of this is the WCML-N buffers. There are some at Glasgow Central and various other places on the route. This is affecting scenario creation. Imagine you are arriving at Carlisle, then the game stops with an error saying a train has crashed into one of those buffers? Wouldn't you go ballistic? I'm sure you would. And unfortunately DFG are too lazy just to issue a simple fix for this.

Pricing - In mine and others' opinions, most of the DLCs are waaaaaaaaaay too overpriced. Now think of us today, we all have jobs and families, however all of our money goes for the bills, mortgage, food, essential stuff for us to live. And yet they want to nick £25 from our bank for a route and maybe 1 piece of rolling stock.

Scenarios and AI - Let me just say 1 thing, the AI dispatcher is awful. If you think scenario creation with AI on a busy route was easy, you can think again. It's way too buggy, it will route your train to the wrong place/direction, and it will just fail your scenario. However, the freeware community have done a great job on scenario creation, including those on the Workshop. If you had problems with the AI dispatcher and have fixed it, I hail you.

So in theory, a great game, some good DLCs, just a rubbish company, DumbFail Gaymes to deal with.

Rant over.
