Great game, I wish I could afford a monthly payment for this game. I'm only playing it whenever they let me play it for free for a few days.

Minecraft Legends is a cute looking RTS.

It took a few hours for me to actually fall a decision:"Should I buy it, should I buy the Deluxe Edition or should I not buy it at all?"
I've purchased the Deluxe Edition. Some may call me crazy, some people are calling me crazy anyways, but that's a story for another day, anyways, where did I stop? Oh, right: Some people may call me crazy for spending 49,99€ for this game, and I totally understand why. As someone who started playing minecraft since Beta 1.5, who's still playing "The Settlers 2: The Next Generation", who played with castles as a child and joined a medival RP-PVE-PVP factions Minecraft Server in 2012, I can find joy in this game.

Of course, the game is young, has a few bugs that can make walls fly in the air for example and features the can let your place building on nether territory (destory the buildings (I forgot what they're called) that are meant to make the air more breathable for piglins and less for overworld inhabitants -> some blocks underneath it will change back into grass blocks where you can place towers for example), but exactly because it's young the game has still a lot of bugfix and content update potential.

I personally wished this game, and games in general were less expensive, because for many people that much money is a lot, some of use don't have jobs (yet), don't earn much money or have a lot of expenses. The current price is not really one a lot of people are willing to pay, especially with the option option of the "Deluxe Edition" is like 25% more expensive than its normal version and its main feature is to add one more character and a few more mount skins(?) to the game.

This leads to another for me controversial topic -> Skins and Microtransactions:
A really important, at least for me really important, feature of minecraft is the creation, upload and wearing of player skins. Skins help you to individualize your ingame representation, fuel creativity, make you feel more one with a game.
Sadly Minecraft Legends took a path of a list of player-skin-models you can select with not much liberty to customize your character. It has its reasons, like facial expressions of the characters and earning more money through minecoins and some of the characters are wearing pretty outfits (my fav. outfit is the green-brown one, since it reminds me about one of my main minecraft skins I've pixeled over seven years ago), but giving players to dress a character differently, combine, individualize even more, is something that would make the game more worth playing. This could be through a 3D-skin-upload, or even if just a character designer.

[Some text I wanted to write, but I forgot what I planned to write. Here some more things I've remembered in a list format:]
- It would be nice if we could give our game saves names.
- Building in this game is hard on a Desktop PC, it would be helpful, if there was the possibility to change the placement of buildings with the four arrow keys
- Add a chat to multiplayer lobbies and ingame. > Versus mode doesn't make any fun with strangers if you can't communicate with them in a strategy game.
- Add different difficulties for training grounds.
- Add more teams, for example: 2x4, 4x2, 3x3, 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1
- Bug: After changing the Z-Key for farming resources to Y, the UI still has a "Z" standing undearneath the pickaxe.
- The game is too expensive, most people cannot afford to buy a game that expensive, therefore not many people buy it which causes struggles while playing, especially because it's a game designed for 4 players a team and even I only have four people playing it in my friends list, which has the size of around 180 people and even then it's hard to find someone to do the challenges with.
- Check my Post Scriptum.
- Feature: You can build flying arrow tower by placing them on high rock formations, and let your allays farm the stone away.
- The game is lacking a gamemode which would be similar to the campaign but without the story for casual PVE and non-spoiler.
- Add a multiplayer lobby list and a lobby password option as well as more lobby options to the game, like "kick <player>", "ban <player>", "lobby names/titles", etc..
- Versus mode:"A minimum of 6 players is required to play", change it to "a minimum of 2 players".
- Minecoins are too expensive, and everyone hates microtransactions. Organize some kind of tournament to give people the chance of winning minecoins or skins.
- VS mode:"Unable to join, the session is full.", why does the game not connect me to another lobby instead?
- Players being able to kill other player that easily maybe isn't optimal, not being able to sprint after you got hit by a sword is also not optimal
- Add a "return to server" option for those who lose their connection to the server during a multiplayer game
- Let people decide if they join a VS mode lobby or already running game.
- Why does the ingame marketplace not have sub categories for player skins, mound skins, etc.?
- Make the game less expensive and add free content, a lot of people are regretting that they spent 40 bucks for the game and/or 10 bucks for one extra player skin and 4 more mount skins. And those who paid 40 for the game and/or 10 extra for the deluce edition should also get some extras, maybe minecoins, more skins, etc.
- Add an option to multiplayer that let's them decide if they're playing with a shared or with seperated inventories or at least give everyone an private inventory, since there are people who are never using their alleys for farming, using up all of your stone and wood for units and therefore you're not able to build your own troops, buildings or team upgrades.
- Let people open their book or check the map while they're dead.
- Some VS matches take a very long time, the map runs out of huge stone formations and it's hard to gather certain resources over time. And the piglin bases which are evolving over time are also helping you to loose a lot of resources. There must be a way to regenerate resources in untouched regions.
- Give people who are reading the book, are checking the map or pressed ESC to pause the game if they're the only human player.
- Sometimes different kinds of graphic bugs can appear.
- It feels more like a 20-30€game instead of a 40€ game.

I enjoy the game, but I wished there were more features, bug fixes, maybe even a feature to play as the piglins in multiplayer and that the game wouldn't cost that much.

I gave it a thumbs up and hope that price, etc. will change in the future.

PS: I've set all of my settings I found ingame to english, but still the characters are talking in german to me, how do I change it to english?

PPS: I'm updating this review regularly.

PPS: The more I'm playing this game the more I'm considering to change my thumbs up to a thumbs down, since the price isn't worth the game (yet).

PPPS: 12th of May 2023: A while has passed, no updates and I'm not finding any motivation in playing this game any more. If important issues won't get fixed over time I may have to change my "thumbs up" to a "thumbs down".

PPPPS: 31st of July 2023:
No update for a very long time. There is no motivation to play it any more, I shouldn't have bought this game. I've changed the recommendation from a "thumbs up" to a "thumbs down".

A masterpiece remake of MARIO PARTY where you play a recolored version of Jerry from Ricky and Morty.
Take victory home while performing sick stunts that can katapult you through the map or activate a secret skill, that makes you go through matter called floor. It'd be nice if there were a few more gamemodes and maps, but in the end, it's a masterpiece.

EDIT:
It has a large variety of maps and modes now.
