I wouldn't currently advise buying this game. I've been waiting for it for years. I paid full AAA price one release day. I played on "Normal" and it got way too easy way too fast. I had a few months off to get over it. When i went back, I could no longer fast travel. I hear that there are annoying work-arounds, and that after your first play through the problem goes away, but here it is. I'm not done my first play through, and why do you keep putting out events without fixing the core game? Done for now. I'll wait for a few months...

Where does the time go?!!

This game still has a lot of bugs, and some other annoying things about it as well, but it's also somehow insanely addictive and great for all that! If you're into the zombie experience, do yourself a favor and pick it up. Even better if it's on sale, like it is today in the 2014 Summer Sale...!

This is one of the best games of the year, hands down... Utterly immersive, the story is just incredible... Because each decision you make affects everything that comes after, the replayability of it is a no-brainer. Highly recommended!

So I bought Homefront for $7.49 as part of the Steam Holiday Sale. Even with many of the reviews I've always wanted to play the game, and the price was definitely right. That was earlier today. I've already downloaded it, played through the entire single player campaign, and had a good go at multiplayer. Here's what I think.

The single player campaign is actually really quite cool. Too bad it's 4 hours long. The thing it feels most like is a game that was made to become a movie. Kinda like a lot of books are written. Not quite what they should be, in order to pave the way for something else. From the guy who created Red Dawn, I guess we shouldn't expect more... So there, single player was a lot of fun, and way too short.

Multiplayer is simply ass. After several hours of play, that's the only reasonable conclusion. There are some good ideas here, or rather they've borrowed some good ideas from others. That said, this multiplayer fails in every way.

I just highly recommend this game. That is all.
