Modern Warfare 3 - A Disastrous Cash Grab

I don't even know where to begin with the abomination that is Modern Warfare 3. It's as if the developers at Activision sat down and asked themselves, "How can we ruin one of the most beloved franchises in gaming history?" Well, congratulations, they succeeded.

First off, let's talk about the blatant overuse of EOMM (Engagement Optimized Matchmaking). It's clear that Activision cares more about keeping players hooked (and spending money) than actually providing a fair and balanced experience. The matchmaking is so skewed that it feels like every game is designed to frustrate you into spending more time—and, of course, more money—on the game. One match, you're paired with absolute beginners who don't know which end of the gun to point, and the next, you're getting demolished by professional-level players. It's not just frustrating; it's downright insulting. There's no sense of progression, no feeling of accomplishment—just an endless loop of manipulation.

The maps? Bland, uninspired, and recycled. Nothing about this game feels new or innovative. It's the same old formula, but somehow worse. The gunplay, which used to be a highlight of the series, now feels clunky and unresponsive. It's like they took a step backward in every single aspect of the gameplay.

And don't even get me started on the campaign. It's a disjointed mess of clichés, with a story that’s so forgettable, it might as well not exist. The characters are flat, the dialogue is cringe-worthy, and the missions are boring and repetitive. It's like they didn't even try.

In terms of graphics, MW3 is embarrassingly outdated. We're talking about next-gen consoles, and yet, this game looks like it was made ten years ago. The textures are muddy, the animations are stiff, and the lighting is lackluster. It's hard to believe that this is a 2023 release.

To top it all off, the monetization is as predatory as ever. Every menu is plastered with microtransactions, battle passes, and overpriced cosmetic items. It’s clear that the only thing Activision cares about is squeezing every last cent out of its player base.

In conclusion, Modern Warfare 3 is a soulless cash grab that disrespects the legacy of the franchise. The overuse of EOMM just adds insult to injury, creating an experience that's more frustrating than fun. Save your money and your sanity—skip this one.

Disappointing Experience: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Misses the Mark

I had high expectations for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, but it seems the series has lost its way. The campaign, which has always been a cornerstone of the franchise, is shockingly short. It feels like they’ve only given us a fraction of what should have been a full story. For a game that prides itself on delivering epic, immersive narratives, this is a huge letdown.

Adding to the disappointment, Modern Warfare 3 doesn't stay true to its roots. The essence of what made the original Modern Warfare games legendary is missing. Instead of the gripping, realistic military scenarios that once defined the series, we get a disjointed experience that feels more like an afterthought than a homage to its predecessors.

Then there’s the multiplayer, which could have been the saving grace. Unfortunately, it’s marred by an overly aggressive skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) system. This makes every game feel like an uphill battle, with casual players constantly thrown into matches against highly skilled opponents. The balance is off, and it saps the fun out of what should be an enjoyable and engaging experience.

Ironically, there’s a decent game buried beneath all this. If they removed SBMM, Modern Warfare 3 might actually appeal to the original COD fans who crave the classic multiplayer experience. Without this oppressive system, players might rediscover the fun and excitement that made Call of Duty a household name. As it stands, however, Modern Warfare 3 is a far cry from the thrilling, well-balanced game it could have been, leaving much to be desired for both new and veteran players.
