♥♥♥♥ this dumb game

Andreas Ronnberg (ruMpel) has been exposed for being a very bad person and the remaining admin of the official Discord is attempting to sweep the allegations under the rug. Andreas has also given a purposefully vague response blaming his actions on an overdose and depression while acting as if that was the reason people were calling him out.

This game is better than Payday 2. Buy it now.

The game is fun, but overall leaves a lot to be desired in terms of content, promised features and story elements.

First of all, there were quite a few things left out of the first release that some people thought we were getting earlier, consisting of things like solar panels, extra weapons according to the early preview of the inventory screen, and of course, the infamous log sled many people have desired.

In terms of content, many people, including me, have noticed the game lacks a real story to be followed, a protagonist to see it through, and an exciting conclusion. The game prefers to tell it's story in silence, having you read printed-out emails and studying items you find around Site 2, but it leads to the story feeling less mysterious and more convoluted, like the writers didn't properly finish the story before it released in Early Access. The lack of voice acting softens the impact of some scenes, including finding the mutated bodies of Mr. and Mrs. Puffton, watching the silver-jacketed Jianyu Zhang shoot Forest protagonist Eric LeBlanc, and finally, entering the artifact with Timmy and witnessing an alternate dimension. which suddenly allows for the unnamed protagonist to be rescued along with Timmy and Eric, ending the story with what should be a bang, but instead amounts to a pop.

Another thing a lot of people have pointed out is the sheer lack of what many people call "boss battles" in Sons of the Forest. Through updates, we have gotten a mid-game boss battle against the senior Pufftons in their mutated forms, as well as an endgame boss battle against an enlargened Demon as the protagonist fights his way to the artifact deep within the hell caves, but both of these boss battles fall flat with their lack of background music... and with the enemies being obvious reskins of enemies you've already seen, with the Pufftons being larger Puffies and the Demon just being a larger Demon enemy.

As you can see, those two things leave a lot to be desired. I may or may not write a review on the actual GAMEPLAY depending on whether or not people actually care to see it.
