Alright, time for a real review:

Disregarding my nostalgia aside, as a game, Sonic Mania hits almost all the notes:
Great Soundtrack
Great Level Design
Great Mechanics (especially new the stages)
Lots of Replay-ability
Tons of subtle and obvious Easter Eggs

But after all of these things i listed, mainly one thing kinda held this back for me:
The 2 week delay on something that wasn't needed. Sure, I understand SEGA trying to "preserve?" their baby since this was one of the most hyped games since Sonic Generations. As a person that was sorta late to the pre-order, i still felt like this 2 week delay was almost intentional just to piss off PC fans a bit more but I guess that's more of an opinion.

All around great game excluding that one problem we all have...... And it shall not be named....... But the problem's getting fixed (As of right now) so i highly suggest you getting it.

Early Access Review
Terrible game, to start off. This game is the epitome of cancer. I will list the Pro's and Con's of this game and why there is so much that needs fixing:
Pro's:
Highly Addicting
Great Character Design
Makes it fun as a local computer brawler

Sadly enough, this is really all i can give it on it's pro's. Onto the con's.
Con's (I will be referring more towards the 1v1 side of the brawler since i have less interest by getting screwed anally by the people that do general online) :

Terrible Online Multiplayer/ 1v1 : What i mean by this is, it's complete RNG it terms of people you fight. There is no real definite on people you fight in correlation to rank and skill. It's completely undefined for the people you encounter. You could be in starting Gold *mid-rank* and fight someone from Platinum AND Diamond. Sure you may want to encounter them every now and then to test your skill to know if one can handle the rank, but for me, I've encountered multiple people from either of those ranks and lost so hard to them to where i get de-ranked in a matter of minutes.

Lag: I have experienced my fair share of lag in multiplayer's due to myself or the opponent's internet connection but, my main concern with this lag issue is that it's multiple variations of lag: Connection, Input, Frame Drops, etc. For example: I want going great with a good KD and winning streak but one opponent in particular i fought was having both frame drops and connection lag even though both him and myself didn't have Internet interference. He won, but both of us were having the exact same problem and had no general way of fixing it but sending a bug report (to my knowledge may still not be fixed) to the game developers and resetting our routers and etc.

Balancing Characters/ Attack Motions: Although the phrase "Character Motions" sounds stupid, as it is, but here me out on this. When i decide to play as any general character (Hattori, Nai, Orion, Ada, Val), I notice more than most, how often it is for me to be in the middle of a combo, and be immediately broken off from it because of my opponent's attack ( Which has more than likely happened after i prepared my attack) or my opponent being in his/her combo and me not being able to do a breaker attack to "catch my breath". Back to the Balancing systems... Referring back to the "motions" statement, even though the balancing is "supposed to be correct", its honestly not. I find myself in similar positions to where a speed on the character I'm using is higher than my opponent's, but somehow he still manages to proceed with his/her combo much faster and swifter than i am.

Level Design: Although the levels for 1v1 seem to be more set towards ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ over any opponent that thinks he/ she is somewhat good, the general lack of letting a character rest of the wall of any floating platform for any time more than an eighth of a second is kinda stupid. There have been multiple occasions in which i would've need that time to ride the walls to get my reprieve on what just happened but never got around to it because of the fact I think I'm touching a wall for a decent amount of time but soon find out I was nowhere the hitbox to even grasp it for that length of time.

Although I seemed to show a scathing contempt for this particular product (mind it is free), I still find it enjoyable but would greatly appreciate if these matters were addressed and fixed ASAP, then I would be much more inclined to tell my friends in how this is such a great game.

Many people seem to compare this game to Nintendo's game "Super Smash Bros.", which it has several valid points to how the game is similar but, Smash Bros. is up to a completely different standard to which this game is not very likely to achieve in it's greatest dreams. Smash Bros. knows that all the con's that have been listed and fixes these recurring problems and treats them before the game is even releases. Not only that but, Nintendo actually releases a full product with no major update to fix balancing or rank or any of the number of patches and massive updates that games such as "Early Access" games tend to do. I would love to keep playing this game because of it's general concept on this sort of platform to where anyone can play, it's just it needs more tweaking then the current representation of the product.

Great game. Close Your Eyes is a pretty good horror puzzle. It provides me with a great horror atmosphere and confused me quick a lot, even asked the developer for some slight guidance, in the end, worth while game. I heard it has a tailored gameplay style, but I'll never tell from whom ...... have fun!
