this has been one of greatest I've played in all my 16 years of playing video games. It has everything I ever wanted to have
- A badass soundtrack by some of my now favourite artists and musicians to date (e.g Danger)
- Boss Rush
- Difficulty
- Interesting story with subtle elements hidden through exploration
- Great top-down to melee gameplay
- Bullet hell
- speedrunning
- hidden dialogues by exploration

I simply just cannot enjoy a game more than Furi, even when I had my frustrated moments. I would always comeback and eventually defeat the boss, using strategies taken from the speedrunning community.
In short, without spoiling too much, the story is your character has been imprisoned and tortured by one of 9 guardians created a genius Architect, that created a prison outside the border of the planet specifically for you so that you wouldn't escape. A mysterious man wearing a rabbit head sets you free and helps you escape by killing all the guardians in each floor. "The Jailer is the key. Kill him, and you'll be free"

When you get to the gameplay it starts off as a top down shooter-bullet hell game where you attack the boss until its blue health is depleted, then after engaging with the boss afterwards, will set you into a attack pattern based melee combat phase where you will need to parry and dodge attacks and attack him/her back. Each boss with their own style and theme, having variety in each boss so then it doesn't feel like you're just playing the same boss over and over. Overall the gameplay it incredibly solid, although at times it does feel like the parry timings are a bit inconsistent as I think I have successfully parried but get hit regardless. so pay attention to that.

the OST is something that I can compare to Hotline Miami 2's OST. incredible. In fact, I'd say its actually better than HLM's OST. not only for the list of songs, but the way they present it to the players. in HLM, when you're in a level and already killing Russian mobsters, the track is still in its build up phase, feeling off-putting when you're slaughtering a mafia with Akimbo SMGs while wearing a bear mask. However, in Furi, parts of a track are only played during a specific phase of the boss. making it feel more satisfying.

I highly encourage you to play Furi, it's a game that to me is perfect in every way. the story, the music, the gameplay.
