Unless they are overhauling the combat mechanics, this game looks like 2025 with combat mechanics from a AA studio in 2015. Beautiful game. Truly. But getting almost stun locked from a basic attack feels terrible. Doesn't seem to have I-frames with the dodge mechanic. If it does, I haven't seen it.
It's a pass from me.

Should've left this back in 2017. The studio has put zero into it aside from some characters and maps. You can't actually play because the lobby fails with "a player has declined" 2 hours of this.

Honest review... It's a Capcom game and has a lot of Monster Hunter movement and actions. Camera is wonky at times and the auto-mount gets annoying when you want to do something silly like throw a goblin off a cliff.
The people complaining about MTX didn't play more than an hour of the game. I've earned 3 revives, and the fated book-o-change-o that people were crying about. For 500RC in game ( of which I had at least 1500 at the time) you can buy the character refresh book for yourself or your main pawn. I think my only real complaint is having to do additional questlines to unlock a couple more vocations but I'm almost certain at this point I'll just clear the whole map. It's good fun and seeing some of the Pawns that people have created is a pretty neat feature.

Everything that is MTX for the game is either obtainable from farming or purchasing with in game currency. 36 hours down and I've done my first playthrough with skipping a fair amount of side quests and exploring. Though I dislike the camera a lot of times, that's been Capcoms Shtick for a long time. I only wish this was co-op because the amount of silly you can get up to would be amazing. Please consider buying it as I think its an amazing game with some amazing twists that I did not predict.

UPDATE: The game is good fun, for the time I put into it, its a nice change from the POE grind. Sucks they have 2 paths to choose with only one being able to trade with players unless you "earn" in game drops and even then it stops you from trading higher level/tier gear. I still stand by my word that once POE2 comes out this game will fall off dramatically but we all know this. It's still a good game and I'm glad they got past the hiccups.


Giving them another couple weeks. Server stability has improved but is still very very bad. Stutters, rubber-bands, characters invisible(only fix has been verifying integrity of files every day), enemies invisible...If the trade restrictions are for RMT, they need to do a better job at actually IP banning those nerds then. Global is flooded with spam and links to sites already. Trade restricting legit people is so off putting. I get a piece of cool gear for my gf and I can't trade it unless I get a shard to drop to be able to trade. Forget it if its a unique or legendary... As said below don't bother buying the game. If they don't do something utterly amazing, it will be dead when POE2 comes out.

I'm pretty vocal when it comes to launches. There are so many different ways they can go, and Last Epoch is no different.
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Until they find a way to stop this Main Menu simulator. Get in to the game? Great, don't load in to a new area. You'll just get DCD. My game time says something like 80 hours. I had about 40 prior to launch. The other 40 are about 10 hours of game time and 30 hours of trying to log in and getting dcd or waiting for the game to kick me from a loading screen or port. I'd like to imagine these things will get fixed but also be tested in the future. This is definitely not a server load issue either. Imagine being a whitelisted streamer...couldnt be me.

Have you gotten in? About 57% of us have not. Wayfinder has learned nothing from any previous dev that dropped their game off of a cliff and kicked anyone along with it that wanted to enjoy it. Beta was smooth, FTP disappeared...and now here we are. Dodged a $149.99 bullet with just gut feeling alone. I'm passing on EA from now on. Not even worth it. Update: Don't wait for 2 hours to get in and actually enjoy the game, you become unable to use movement keys. Then it freezes on you with "Please Wait" on your screen and you have to hard stop the game. Guess what happens when you restart? You reach the final boss: WAITFINDER 2023 QUEUE SIMULATOR. GG

Game could def hit 8/10 easy.
No rejoin feature from disconnect makes it 3/10 (WHY THOUGH??)
Leviathan every single game makes it 2/10 ( he should shut up after tutorial)
not having locked in roles or any means of communication outside of children screeching over voice comms makes it 0/10 at this point. (Having zero tanks, no supports, or just not experienced players makes gameplay insanely tough during pvp aspects)(Also, it seems the *your team gets a dino* isnt based off of who is ahead...so the team beating you to a pulp can do so even more severely)
Game isnt in development still, this isnt early access. This all shouldve been hashed out from day one.
Don't drop the ball like so many others have.

Finally free from the wallet mongers that are Activision... It's actually refreshing to log in to steam and start up Destiny 2 from here. It's a feeling I have yet to know, but love all the same.

Bought the game with a discount code, not knowing much about the game. Have close to 4 hours in game and it has been very fun. Starting out casual to learn the ropes and I can see myself playing this game a good amount. The level design is crisp and new, reminds me of Diablo with a hint of Paper Mario. I am excited to try the harder difficullties with different characters to see how the gameplay is and how it progresses. Thank you for making this game as fun as possible.

I've spent plenty of time and money on games. This by far has been one of my best investments. The devs are the most active I have ever come across, and they actually listen to the community. Not the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that complain about their potatoes not working, the people putting valuable input into their comments and trying to better the game. 11/10
