So, finally after 21 months of playing FS, I have finally bothered to write a review, so here goes!

FS at its core is just brilliant. The visuals, mechanics, relative ease to play and tolerance of high ping are wonders. The gameplay itself has potential to be brilliant, and at times, really intense!

As far as progression goes, it doesn't take too long to unlock new ships. There's no P2W AT ALL, which I find is brilliant.

One of the main issues players have with the game is the matchmaker. In its current state, it can and will put high and low end players together, and can cause many one-sided matches. The currently low population does not help, however this should change as ECG are ramping up their marketing campaign. However, most other games have balancing issues, so don't knock the game or Devs too much for that.

By far, this is my most played game, surpassing hours in games I've played for years in 6 months. If that doesn't say something, I don't know what does. It's a truly F2P, and deserves a shot as much as any other game out there!

Positives of this game:
- good laugh when you lobby up with a group of mates
- hilarious knife kills and watching people getting rekt

Negatives:
- 64 tick servers. C'mon Valve, with all that skin money, you could at least upgrade to 128 tick!
- Learnt every 12 year old has ****ed my mum
- Can play only as well as your internet connection
- Newly updated sound effects are balls - some riccochet sounds are from Codename Eagle (a game released in 1999)

If you enjoy ragequit/keyboard smashing simulators, go right ahead :-)

This is a brillinat little game, great gameplay and storyline, though it's the noir-inspired music that really sets it off for me.

If it's on sale... JUST BUY IT ALREADY! You won't be disappointed.

I'm a huge fan of tower defense games, with the likes of Bloons and such. However, this game entirely changes how you think strategically. It forces you to think about how to manage your resources, do you build engines and make them do a "tactical burn" and build up some resources, or focus more on actual firepower and defense.

The size and power requirements of the more powerful weapon systems add a twist in that you cannot simply fit the best and most expensive modules onto your ship, each one has to be powered appropriately and positioned so that it is of some use!

The voice acting is great and the ingame music is good too!

If you enjoy tower defence games, you can't really go wrong. 10/10 :)
