As of writing this, I have completed both the Sonic Generations Remaster and Shadow Generation story lines respectively.

SONIC GENERATIONS
The addition of the drop dash was nice, and to have additional dialogue in cut scenes was more than welcome. With that in mind...Some of the rewritten cut scenes felt worse than the original. The times Tails mentioned West Side and South Island from lore felt forced in my opinion. Some other voice lines felt inferior compared to the original. I am not going to throw a fit over these changes however, because I know that the original game is available to us, and those who have not bought it have no reason to complain about the changes, as they should've done the same. I believe Ian Flynn is the best possible choice for a Sonic story, and I know that he'll improve and bring us incredible stories for years to come.

Also, I do not see why people would freak out over Amy not being crazy over Sonic or Rouge's back being covered up slightly. I am beginning to see this agenda people are pushing to say that everything is woke. Again, play the original if it upsets you, or mod the game even.

(Adding this on after initial review) I don't know if it's my hardware but the audio and graphics seem...stuttery? I'm certain a 3080 should keep up, so this is probably just some port issue. These issues did not impact my experience however.

SHADOW GENERATIONS
Wow...they cooked. The new abilities worked well, the models were super expressive and the graphics were...*chef's kiss* magnificent. I am eager to also complete the additional content. The story, without spoilers, was also great, and the way it ties into the main game was done well. I just feel a little disappointed we didn't get more out of Shadow and Maria's first interaction. If I saw my best friend after 50 years, I'd be emotional. But I felt like the end of the story did all of my gripes justice, as Shadow finally has closure and can finally move on. After years of poor planning, they got Shadow's character arc to be completed.

This game felt a lot more premium than Frontiers, and I wish to see this level of graphical fidelity, storytelling, and combat in future titles.

OVERALL
I can see that Shadow Generations was added to justify the price of a remaster, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ did they care so much. Sonic is finally finding his footing in the gaming industry after so many years, and I can't wait to see the next game. Also it appears achievements aren't working, so consider that your first patch on launch day, SEGA.

Also again, all this woke talk is complete bogus and are just drama-queens. Don't let them get to you SEGA.

I would like to extend a hand of gratitude towards Sony for not only removing the region lock on this game, but as well as several others.

Now we can finally dive together.

A truly missed opportunity.

The marketing, the cgi cutscenes, the trailers. Everything got me hyped up, but I was then met with a shell of what this could've been. I understand the developers had to push back the game, but it's pointless doing that when you leave so much content left behind as discovered in the files.

Narrative-wise, I fail to emphasise with the game. I don't know who these animatronics are and cannot connect to them the same way their creator could. What should've been done was merely dividing the game into longer chapters, each focused on a large and time-consuming task. The first hour could be daytime! We can get introduced to Vanessa, the animatronics, the origins behind Gregory! Unfortunately we're thrown into the fray with little context and thus don't feel attached like a normal person would. The story cannot be fixed.

Gameplay, art style, and characters I dislike. It was released as a buggy mess despite 2 delays, the characters looked too cartoony for a horror game, and the characters don't reflect at all what came before. How are the animatronics sentient to an extent? How did Glitchtrap return? Where's the fear and mystery that came before?

I'm sure there's more I can say, but I choose to get these out as fast as possible.

Perfect in possibly every way (most likely for us cowards), i streamed the game onto YouTube (not very long however), it was a terrifying experience, if i had one scary part to remember, its Fredbear peering through the door with only his eyes. As far as i tried, it takes about 10 seconds for an animatronic appears at 1 difficulty, I may be wrong, as I only played for no more then 40 minutes, now lets be honest, now, 20 mode for atleast 2 animatronics may be impossible, 50/20? more like 50/1, as Scott implied. And as a little message to Dawko, come on? Can you beat a man that's just a bunch of cyan neon pixels or not?
