I'm proud to say I helped KICKSTARTER this game and I am extremely satisfied with the final product.

Do you like Castlevania SOTN? Are you a Metroidvania fan? Then you'll love Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Graphics are great, lots of really cool bits of nostalgia nods to SOTN, the shard system makes powering up and build customization very fun and in-depth, while also simple. Additionally, there's a good amount of free DLC with more expected to come.

Oh! You can also play as Shovel Knight; who doesn't want to bury the competition with a shovel for a sword? Did I dig myself into a hole with that? Really, though... Bloodstained: ROTN has all the best qualities of a great Metroidvania with it's own flair and uniqueness.

TLDR: If you're on the fence, just get it; you'll enjoy it.

For the price of 10 McChickens you can immediately improve the quality of your Gaming Library.

I purchased my copy on Early Access launch day. Even though I'm not a huge platform fan, I find myself playing over and over to improve my score. It's easy to pick up and play in short spurts, or long sessions. Despite being early access there are a lot of levels to play through.

- Controls: Simple and easy to pick up.
- Enjoyment: Tons of fun, thoughtful levels to play through that leave you feeling accomplished.
- Level Design: Speed through dozens of progressively more challenging levels that require precise movements to maximize your time.
- Leaderboard: Progress is tracked, so you're always encouraged to push yourself to improve. You can compare your times to your friend list and there's even a online World Record!
- Music: Very catchy and feels like a perfect fit to the flow and art style.
- Art style: Very clean pixel art with the perfect balance of color and ambient light. I love pixels and the colors and the effects all look very smooth, feel natural and add atmosphere to every level.

I highly recommend this game to anyone seeking an easy-to-pick-up, yet fun and challenging platformer to fill the void in their life. I do not recommend games, lightly, and I am very happy with this one.
