EDIT 2: We've been bamboozled by Sony. 177+ countries have still been delisted from buying the game. We need to push back again until all Helldivers can dive together. Don't let this issue slip your notice.

The game is fun and enjoyable and easily a Game of the Year contender...until Sony showed up. Forcing people to link their Steam accounts to a PSN account is just atrocious. What makes it worse is that there are the people that can't make a PSN account because of the region they live in. They're getting screwed out of being able to play a game they already paid for and sunk time into.

I will not be linking my Steam account to a PSN account.

So a bit of an actual review: I played the first game and really enjoyed it and a lot of the features from the first game carry over. The same exact "codes" for the same strategems from the first game, a lot of weapons from the first game made it over, etc, and they're still adding more legacy stuff.

Going from the top-down view to third-person is where this game really shines. Makes it feel more immersive like you're really in the action and boi is there action.

One of the big things this game does right is that the microtransactions are actually micro. If you were interested in buying beyond purchasing the game, it won't cost more then a few bucks. On top of that, the premium currency is earnable by just playing the game. In theory you could save up for that cool armor set you saw in the shop or get that warbond progression set, which btw are like mini battle passes that don't ever go away so no FOMO.

This game is a live service game done right and hopefully continues to stand as a big middle finger to AAA titles.
