What a great take on raiding. Great replayability as fights maintain their flavor while feeling quite different solo vs 2-4 players.

For this price tag, would highly recommend.

The pacing and systems are insanely good. You can check in once a day or actively play it which is hard to get right.

Edit: after 2 weeks of radio silence, dev releases barebones update, talks about how he's not going to address some of the worst P2W I've ever seen because it'd be "political" and basically doubled down on how important the companion update was. At least you're guaranteed king doot if you roll TWO HUNDRED times (4 years f2p, or >325$ USD). Absolute joke form someone I respected for a really quality game. Shame

---

I've played my fair share of idle games over the years. And up until the pet patch I would constantly recommend the game to people. That has all gone out the window with the most recent patch, with a gacha practice that puts EA/Diablo Immortal/etc to shame.

There were systems in the game previously that already crossed into the gacha territory, but they were fairly small and as you progressed your account it didn't feel like you really needed them as you would speed up because you leveled up the mechanic over time. Finally, the multiple times it comes up, it uses in game premium currency that you actually get quite a bit of (blue gems). So over time you eventually accumulated enough to get almost everything without paying (autoloot at $5 was super worth, and wing bundles which are nice but not close to mandatory at all).

The pets however, is absurdly gross. It gives everybody ONE pull per week, with the only method of getting future ones paying real money for GREEN gems, which conveniently you are not able to get outside of pulling out your wallet. The problem then arises that the bonus for the most rare pet is not obtainable any other way in game. The <0.5 (up to <1% at the end) chance to get the rarest pet was calculated to take a free player over 7 years ON AVERAGE, aka: entirely out of the realm of possibility for a majority of the playerbase. As another comment put it, when a new job came out that interacted with Divinity that allowed you to have 2 altars active on that SINGLE CHARACTER and that was already game-warping. This pet gives all 10 of your characters ALL 8 alters active at the same time.

A brand new account with this pet could catch up to people entering end-game within a month or two, that's how powerful it is. I understand that Lava is a solo dev, but it really is upsetting that he's chosen to go this route.

Edit: dev is extremely thin-skinned that will randomly decide to nuke his own game by adding the absolute most predatory practices (seriously, think of the worst gouging you know, double it and this dev will probably add that and treat it as a positive, stay far far away)
