Tl:DR, new favorite game of all time, has the best aspects of every previous Soulsborne games, gorgeous worlds to explore, awesome combat and boss fights, and adds accessibility while still retaining that difficulty we all know and love

This game I feel has went beyond my expectations of what exactly was in store for me. Just the fact alone that is has dna of every Soulsborne game + Sekiro alone is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of how incredible this game is - Weapons and especially spells feel great to use, locations are drop dead GORGEOUS HOLY CRAP and the combat feels like a natural evolution to the dark souls formula, even reaching into the moveset pool of certain bosses to give them further identity.

Being able to jump somewhat like in Sekiro without that awkward ass running start is something I didnt even think was needed but I'm glad its a thing now. It helps to spice up both the level design and boss encounters. Being able to stealth is also pretty neat, though I didn't use it as much. There are plenty of dungeons and caves that feel hella better than the chalice dungeons in Bloodborne and while they do tend to reuse bosses in the same way, in a game as big as this, this is something I can easily forgive. Also powerstancing is back from DS2! Maybe not in the same exact way since now it requires two of the same weapon types but its still great nonetheless. magic works the same way like in Demon Souls and DS3 but now it is WAAAY more potent than ever before. Even weapon arts are back and some can be customizable while others are unique to a specific weapon.

Even the story itself is thematically the opposite of Dark Souls, where instead of a story about the inevitable downfall of everything and trying to hold on to as much of humanity as we can, it's about the ambition of humanity, and how far we can stretch it. It still does have its depressing moments, and times that were just outright unsettling. It's even got probably the funniest moments in any Soulsborne game, too Another incredible aspect about this game is how unbelievably accessible this is in comparison to previous games while simultaneously retaining the difficulty of said games.

The only flaws i could really come up with is how optimization was a little funky at times, though it doesn't help that my pc is pretty meh, and pvp is in a funny state where almost everything does a lot of damage. Also damage scaling against you as you progress can be a lil funky at times, which might be a way to encourage players to go and explore more.

Overall, I cant recommend this enough to those willing to try the genre - It's got the best aspects of every prior Soulsborne games, it's more accessible than before, and the combat feels incredible as usual. Dare i say - this is becoming my new favorite game of all time. Though pricey, it is totally worth it!

It's fairly short but it was still a great experience nonetheless - weapons and furthermore the double gear system felt incredible to use, bosses are a lotta fun - if a lil easy at times, stages are also fun and challenging, and though I don't have much to comment about the soundtrack, I'd say it's still worth a listen. Its length and difficulty also makes this an incredible starting point for people wanting to get into megaman, but there's also something for vets, too!

Amid Evil is a fantastic game with such incredible levels combined with a wonderful art style further combined with such an unapologetic use of colors. The weapons are incredibly fun to use (including the melee weapon! I find it rare that the starting melee weapon in a retro fps is incredibly viable!) and has different functionality that either gets enhanced or changes completely when in soul mode, there's a huge variety of enemies and theming in each of the seven episodes, and the music is incredible thanks to Andrew Hulshult once again. I adore this game and I recommend you sink as much time into this as you can!

Here's to The Black Labyrinth coming soon!
