Early Access Review
Do you like DnD 5e? Have you tried Baldur's Gate 3 and were disappointed in its implementation?

Then look no further because the most accurate representation of the tabletop RPG is here and its name is Solasta! Sure, its not official so it has to use the SRD 5.1 Ruleset but never fear. That just means certain spells and certain subclasses are not allowed. Solasta native subclasses fit very well and are well balanced alongside the SRD included ones.

Combat and other systems are faithfully upheld, but are optionally changed via options along with difficulty options.

Character making is wonderfully open with some good options for backgrounds, alignments and even personality traits. Stat building is very customizable with the option for Standard Array, rolling for stats, point buy, and even the option to place your stats exactly where you want. Slight warning to anyone this might apply to, the character customization is pretty lacking in the looks department with limited voices though. They don't look terrible but they arn't the prettiest thing to look at.

But hey, if looks have to be the best of the best and who gives a damn about good combat or not then stick with Baldur's Gate 3 since thats all it really has going for it.

Wonderful game with a delectable atmosphere for fans of the macabre.

The tactics are great, if not a tad bit shallow. Maybe they will add some new classes or more skill options to deepen the experience but at base, I'd say its very good.

The complexity mainly comes into play with the bosses and their unique mechanics, or the fact that healing requires a sacrifice. Not just any sacrifice, but the sacrificee needs to be of equal or higher level, BUT the regenerated daughter gets a buff trait based on the sacrificed's level and class.

I'm seeing a lot of reviews complaining about ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or the honest to goodness mechanics of the game. I agree we need a melee button because the melee transition from shooting is wonky at best. For most of the rest? Learn the game before leaving a negative review.

It's a great game, do yourself a favour tho, play with a controller. It was obviously developed with that in mind. I agree, if you're going to release a game on pc make sure Mouse and Keyboard controls are given their proper due.

To be honest tho, if you don't have a controller to play those few games that controller is obviously superior on then what are you doing with your life? (Dark Souls comes to mind. Everyone wants to complain about every game needing the MnK controls to be the next coming of Christ seem to forget the atrocity of DS on MnK)

Let's get one thing straight. This game is pretty much more MMO, complete with busy work and a crap ton of dailies, than it is Halo.

But for some reason I enjoy it. The story is... ok to say the most. Idk, maybe I just have a soft spot for Bungie, even tho its not the same Bungie anymore.

Don't listen to all these negative reviews from whiny kids.

I will agree that the Weaves from WoM are a bit strange and feel out of place and pointless, but the game is still excellent.

It's like a Chinese Mount & Blade, if you set your unit limit to ~32 and reinforcement waves to ~5. Now multiply that by 15 (1 squad per player) and you've got yourself something magical and team driven.

Super surprising this came out on PC, and not long after I was super sad that I cant play my old copy of Catherine after my old Xbox 360 broke down (not that I really playing it that much)

This game is a classic and the story is great. Its a puzzle game with a story, and an Atlus story to boot.

I would go so far as to say that even though this isn't Full Body edition, go ahead and grab it to let Atlus/Sega know that the PC market has a high demand for their games.

Hell, if it does well, we could possibly get many more of their amazing titles on the best platform, if they do good on the port ofc.

I will note that all of the issues that are being reported, I personally have not gotten any of them.
