Nowa odsłona cyklu Civilization wprowadza kilka iście rewolucyjnych zmian. W zasadzie całość systemu rozgrywki została zaprojektowana na nowo, w taki sposób, aby uczynić grę jeszcze przystępniejszą, a przede wszystkim bardziej przejrzystą. Czy Civilization V straciło przy tym coś ze swojej grywalności? Otóż nie, wciąga dokładnie tak samo, jak jej poprzedniczki. Wszyscy podatni na SJJT (syndrom jeszcze jednej tury) powinni mieć się na baczności; nieprzespane noce niemalże gwarantowane.
