A Fistful of Gun is a great game. It is a challenging and unforgiving game, I think that's where most of these negative reviews come from. Some characters are easier to play than others, that is true. But the aim, movement, and mechanics stuff I think is posted by naive people who don't understand what the game is supposed to be - and ultimately want the game to be something else.. something they've played before. But you have to go back to 1985 to find a game that compares to A Fistful of Gun.

However, the game is much less fun without a couple friends to play with.
I highly recommend if you have a friend or two to play with.

Early Access Review
This game is complex. There are stealth, and tactical aspects. It's not about mindlessly killing everything. With limited ammo available, and gun shots giving away your position, it's best to only shoot when you have no other option.

You're hunting a bounty, narrowing down it's location by locating clues via far sight. There are zombies and other distrubing creatures that will attack you to hinder your progression toward the bounty. Once the bounty has been killed, and banished from the world, the player(s) that banished become the bounty. Meaning, in far sight the other players will now be hunting you as you navigate toward an extraction point.

This game is full of failure, and surviving every round is just not going to happen. The game takes a while to load, but I've had very little server connection issues. This coupled with gameplay being slow, and games taking a while, gives a much greater value to accomplishment when you do kill other players, or when you do complete a bounty and extract. Simply put, if you died and respawned, or died and joined a new game within a minute or two it just wouldn't be the same. It gives a sense of realness to life in the game, you're less inclined to put yourself in a bad situation as it'll be 5 minutes before you can get into another game.

Overall, I recommend this game if you enjoy a challenge. The game is hard.. there's no easy mode. If you can't handle frustration this isn't your game. In my opinion, even some Dark Souls players probably can't handle the frustration caused by this game.

I really like this hunting game. First of all the graphics, and scenery are absolutely beautiful. The Pacific Northwest map really looks like the PNW, and reminds me of some areas of Oregon that I have hunted before.

There's no time constraint or quests to complete that will sink your time before you can exit the game. This game is great whether you have 15 minutes to kill before you walk out the door, or you have a couple hours to play. Game play can be very fun at times, and extremely frustrating at others, a lot like hunting.

I would recommend this game if you're into hunting. The tracking, and stealth system is decent. The animals have great UI, but not flawless. Progression can be slow, best to start off with smaller animals and deer for points to upgrade your rifle. Otherwise, you'll be doing a lot more tracking, and less shooting and bagging.
