Hunt Showdown was a fun game, running smooth, and the UI was usable.

The new UI is an issue, but one of the lesser problems. The biggest issue is the abysmal performance and the stutters in game, especially when facing other Hunters. You drop down to a fraction of your framerate mid-fight, but it has massive ramifications. In its current state, it is barely playable. It happens across multiple different hardware, including a 3070 Ti, 3080, 4080, and 4090. No setting improves or fixes it.

Until it gets fixed, I can't recommend the game.

This game has gone for so long, Respawn has completely forgotten or ignored what it is about. Almost every change they make turns the game worse. Just don't bother. Don't spend your money. Go play something else or buy yourself something nice instead of wasting it on this game.

CS:GO Review
One of the grandfathers in the competitive FPS shooter scene.
It still has many issues, from poor server performance to VAC being basically a joke, but it still holds up to this day.

The community is a mixed bag, for the most part I recommend playing with friends as much as you can to have an enjoyable time. If you want better teammates or more serious games, try a league like FaceIT or ESEA. Those also have a better anti-cheat than Valve offers.

Outside of that, I can recommend the game and say every shooter fan should have played it at least once.

It's fun. It's more fun with mods. The more mods, the more fun. No insanity. Totally.
