Definitely one of the best games to come out last year. Brothers is a wonderful execution of a classic story one would imagine to be passed down through the ages. Incredibly touching, and very cinematic. While the gameplay can be simple, it can still be very engaging.

One of the most, if not the most terrifying game I've ever played. Reminded me of the first F.E.A.R. game in some ways. Absolutely loved it!

One of the best, especially unique, multiplayer experiences to be had in gaming right now!

This game sets the bar of what a remake of a classic should be. The challenge was especially tough to reimagine the soundtrack that we all loved years ago, and the devs pulled it off wonderfully. 5/5!

This game plays like a Metroid title mixed with the Ecco games. Packed with a lovely soundtrack, you can't go wrong with Aquaria!

I tend to tire easily of stealth gameplay, but Mark of the Ninja holds my attention tighter then a Ninjatō! This game sets the bar for stealth gameplay. Finally a game that truly captures the finesse and efficiency of a ninja.

thechineseroom has done a phenomenal job with the retail release of this game, compared to the source mod released a few years ago. Dear Esther is the most visually stunning game I've played this year so far, which is amazing considering the size of the developer. Make no mistake though, Dear Esther does not play like a typical video game. It's focal point is the exporation of a twisting, esoteric narrative personified through the navigation of breathtaking landscape. Completion time is around 1-2 hours. If you're still game, buy it!

At first glance, Terraria seems to simply be a minecraft clone lacking a dimension, however this is not the case. Terraria plays more like a sandbox castlevania or metroid game (lacking any sort of apparent narrative). The player explores a vast, diverse world, scavenging valuable resources, and other loot to better fight and survive against the various hostile forces in the world. Impressive tools and weapons are waiting to be crafted, beautiful and diverse biomes await exploration, along with various enemies hungry for your destruction, including the occasional epic boss fight. Terraria is a game that offers a surprising amount content and excitement for a seemingly small package and price. Did I mention the game plays wonderfully with multiple players? I will also note here that local hosting is near effortless to set up. Terraria seems to hold my attention more then most indie games I've played, even more then some commercial AAA titles.

A surpringly good team-based multiplayer shooter. Take hold of control points while completing various dynamic combat missions. Various structures and vehicles can be summoned. Play as several different classes, which can be fully customized. Additional class options can be unlocked through persistent experience gain. Section 8: Prejudice is a mix of Bad Company 2 and Quake Wars. A fantastic MP shooter for a very low price.

Bioshock 2 is the perfect sequel. Improved visuals much better represent the world of Rapture. Better gunplay: faster ammo switching and reloading, the ability to use plasmids and weapons at the same time, new, exciting weapons, better plasmid upgrades. Overall the gameplay is better: interacting with little sisters is more diverse, as you can carry them around and have them harvest adam from dead bodies, which triggers waves of enemies. You also attain the abilities of big daddies from the first game, such as the drill rush, which is pretty awesome. The narrative starts off a bit too obfuscated, but develops soon enough and quickly captures the player's interest. In the sequel a new ideology takes hold over Rapture, which is the exact opposite of what Andrew Ryan crafted Rapture to be. It's quite interesting to hear the two ideologues trade punches on the audio recorders. Bioshock 2 is the perfect complement to the original Bioshock game.
