Mission Complete Helldivers, another win for the right side of history, great game with questionable balancing, but overall a fun co-op game to either kill clankers or squish bugs with friends.

I have not forgotten what sony had done on may 3-6 2024 and i will leave my original Down vote review here as a reminder of what we as a community can do when faced with tremendous odds and sony not to forget where they stand.

Review as of May 3-6 2024:
Adding to the current psn fiasco, While i already have a psn account i dont plan on linking out of protest.

Sony have tried to bring their anticonsumer nonsense to pc where if we link our accounts were giving them power to leak more data and ban players for arbitrary reasons [so much for freedom and democracy].

Sony claim the linking is for crossprogression but what pc gamer is buying the game again on ps and subbing to ps+, instead of using inhome streaming to a tv or buying a long active hdmi cable to play all their steam game rather than repurchase.

Furthermore regions without proper psn support are S.O.L

This was the straw that broke the camels back given sony like to censor games while other platforms release unchanged making sony products inferior to the rest.

Welp, frees up 75gb of storage just in time for EDF6.

Be better sony, you were cooler late ps3/vita era.

Lightfall is fun, however the story is defiantly half done explaining nothing on why were doing half the things were doing or what the darkness wants, it will probably get described in the lore books or future seasonal activity, but if you want a decent shooter thats not cod than this will scratch that itch.

Pros:
New Sub classes:
Strand are fun if you have adhd brain and need to move around a lot [especially for those hunters out there] then the new stand sub classes will synergize with your play style.
New exotics:
the new exotics especially titan for stasis does make it more than ice punch
the new hunter boots look like theyd be a good pairing in pvp as they give you and your team a boost to stats
Destination:
Neomuna looks and plays amazing as well as the vex network areas look amazing also.

Cons:
Story: the story does leave something to be desired as we still dont know what "the veil" is or what the witness wants with the traveller.
New enemy:
the tormentors are kinda bullet spongy with small precision hit boxes that you kind of only are able to do anything with stand suspend as suppressing them makes them cover the tiny weak spot on their head with their hands.
Locked class building:
the strand fragments a the end that look the most useful [from a hunter perspective] are locked for another week at least until the 1st raid clear is done, wich is kind of lame IMO.

Final conclusion:
Yes the storytelling kind of blows chunk, but if you want more destiny gunplay rather than story, this is a fine purchase, strand is fun, neomuna/vex network is cool and this is just a fun game to play co-op with your friends

I had given this game the benefit of the doubt when it released early in nov 2021, however at this stage its clear 343 dont have their priorities in order.

gameplay: the core gameplay is solid, classic halo with modernized features from many halo games that dont feel overpowered or gimmicky.

Customization: the battlepass is a decent idea but is padded with exp boosts/challenge swaps and individual shoulder armour not being 1 unlock for both left and right.
Store WAS overpriced and bundles were bloated with unrelated junk and stuff that cant be used on all things.
Emblems shouldnt be counted as 4 separate items, profile, armour, weapon and vehicle emblems to pad out more number of items.
Same goes for armour coatings, they shouldnt be separated by armour cores unless theyre something special like noble team colours, destiny 2 can mix and match any shader between each armour segment.
Lack of natural unlocks via gameplay milestones/campaign completion[its$90aud throw some more unique special new stuff in there.
Weapon customization needs some improvements too however these are more personal gripes such as the weapon charms flail around too wildly and are too distracting , better emblem placement on guns[let us choose where the emblems go and how to rotate/scale them, or even a paintshop system like black ops 3 did]

Maps: the map count is abysmal 3 btb maps that almost look identical and the rest of the maps that are in 4v4 are ok at best, nothing too memorable like classic halo map remakes or art style.
Adding a map that relates to a even such as the tenrai or something related to cyber showdown would of been nice at this stage.
Map/mode voting or veto needs to be added to the game, i dont want to play oddball on live fire 24/7
Forge could of been a saving grace for this issues....IF WE HAD ONE!

Network:343 had announced tweaks to the netcode wich i havent yet to try out however one big glaring issue is the removal of geoblocking.
As a aus player i kept on getting matched in eu/south Africa games and it was just unfair so blocking the ip of foreign servers was the only way to enjoy playing the game, but now i have to leave it to chance if i get a good connection game now as 343 have only provided a band-aid solution as the only proper fix for this is a proper server selector [mcc had one why cant infinite >.>].

Challenges:challenges are still a tad too specific, 10 kills with the pulse carbine isnt the easiest to be done as are 10 kills with commando or 3 kills with the mangler, they should just be a large amount of kills with weapon types like auto weapons/precision weapons/small arms weapons/unsc weapons/forerunner weapons, something like that, along with the ultimate challenge for the last event just didnt happen as a good player is hard to obtain when you keep taking down enemies, so in order to even get close to that you would have to throw matches and feed it should of be earn spree related medals wich would include killjoys for people who arent as good but spree medals for those who are better
not to mention offering the same emblem 3 times makes me not want to even bother playing as one week it was backdrop emblem, armour emblem and weapon emblem.

Campaign: im waiting for co-op to get added in the future so i can play it with my boyfriend and mess around together, however given the track record thats happened i feel that wont work at all on release of the update.

Conclusion: 343 had built up so much goodwill since 2019 with mcc pc, adding reach and console fix/improvements.
but given the state the game released in on it felt like a early access game and still does, especially with btb matchmaking being broken for a month.
companies need to stop releasing games in such broken states and make sure lots of flights/beta testing is properly concluded so all features ship on launch rather than "added later" modern gaming is not good due to publisher greed and development hell due to "C0V1D delays" but thats not a good excuse for releasing game so unfinished.
I really do think this game needs to pull a "Realm reborn" situation and take the game down for a few months and do some intense polish of the engine and content before releasing to the public such as:

Bigger selection of maps
Classic halo stale modes being included
Co-op campaign
Working theater mode
improve the character customization system[make it less restrictive]
Full classic forge options[fancy new features can come later]
Proper server selection
better ranked rewards
A proper progression system icl performance bonuses for doing good/winning a game/achieving rarer medals.

Untill that time comes id say just avoid the game until 343 get the message and go play some mcc and learn how to mod halo3 and more fun playing that game instead[thats what im doing]
Im also going to be doing enough every now and then to finish the battlepass i paid for and will uninstall untill things are fixed.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS GAME!!!
Bungie has crossed the line of sunsetting content and labeling it "vaulted" so it can be "brought back" in future updates.
Back as beyond light launched they "vaulted" all the interesting destinations while leaving the boring ones in its place and saying even destiny1 content is merely been put into the content vault.

Other than bringing back 1 open field with the 3 strikes from destiny1 and a very boring "new light into" and bringing back 1 raid from destiny1 they've yet to touch the content vault.

Further more they had taken away what we had originally paid for with a false promise on bringing it back, outbreak perfected catalyst/whisper of the worm catalyst missions had also been "vaulted" and are impossible to obtain since making the weapons unusable to their full potential for newer players while veterans have a edge.
This is also going to be the fate of Dead Mans Tale as that mission is located in the soon to be vaulted portion of the game further adding to the list of weapons fully unable to be used.

Bungies reasoning is that storage is the main concern despite it being a console issue and could easily have a system in place to download destinations as dlc and pick and choose what you want installed.
bungie has once again taken our money and taken away the product we had already paid for once more.

I heavily praised this game for being fun to mess around in with friends as the netcode is great and there WAS a lot to do but bungie is just ripping off at this stage.

11 crucible maps had been vaulted and 6 strikes taken away with beyond light giving us 3 recycled strikes and 2 new ones that were released very early on in the expansions life and a whopping 0 new crucible maps and 0 "vaulted" ones!
no kidding no addition to the crucible roster since shadowkeep 2+years! and even those maps were recycled destiny 1 maps, 1 of which had the hive structure painted red.

Bungie i am a day1 destiny1 player and this has gone way too far, i made peace with titan, io, mercury and mars being "vaulted" even though i bought the game and season pass twice [year1] on pc and ps4.

you need to stop removing from the game and giving less and making certain functions inaccessible to newcomers while veterans get to use it to its full pottential [outbreak/whisper/DMT]

If this "vaulting" continues i WILL NOT be buying witch queen unless you rethink this "vaulting" mentality.
