Good game that is faithful to the original and I love the new Bloober made cutscenes. Luke Roberts absolutely nails his role as James, from the emotionless lines to the screaming in fights- just a superb performance. The graphics and environments are stellar, there are times I have been genuinely terrified while playing that I had to pause and do something else for minutes. And the boss fights? Please. 1000% improvement from the original. I was taken aback by the first boss fight when I got to the Labyrinth. Whoever designed that fight needs therapy (I say this with love, it was just that good). Playing with keyboard and mouse went smooth and I had an easy time controlling during fights.

Issues I have is that combat gets repetitive over time as you fight the same enemies over and over as you become used to their fighting patterns. I enjoy the puzzles, but I feel some of them are just there to make the game longer. Took me 15 hours to finish a normal playthrough (the rest of my hours are for achievement hunting). I have powerful PC but I still had FPS drops, stuttering and problems with the fog looking weird, but the game never froze or crashed for me. Seems to be a common complaint among players though.

Rating this a 7.5 out of 10!

I enjoy the customization, I like the weekly price raises on the market, it keeps the game engaging as you have to check which items got inflated to make sure you still make profit out of them. Being able to change the difficulty of your lobby at anytime is a good touch on days where you just want to relax or go wild. Both fun to play alone and with friends, though I definitely recommend the latter. I did not purchase the DLC as of yet, but I very soon plan to as I want to support the creators of this game.

If you are into simulator/tycoon games and you are reading this, please do yourself a favor and play this game, it's free and good.

Makes the game too easy, and defeats the experience if you're super new to the game.

Beautiful graphics, better optimization compared to its predecessor but a little shallow gameplay, but mods can easily fix it and they're super easy to install. Be sure to buy it when it's on sale though, it's really expensive. Still recommended!

I have mixed feelings about this EP. I don't think it's excellent, nor it's horrible.

First I'll begin with the good sides. A good I find about this expansion pack is that it's CUTE. I love the interactions between humans and pets, watching your sim play with them is adorable. Horses and minor pets were an awesome addition, and the fact pets could learn skills and use them to 'fetch' money for sims was great. The included furniture, sim clothes and build mode objects were nice, gave more variety to my houses. Appaloosa plains is my first sim world ever played. It's not that great of a world, but it's excellent if you wish to play with pet-focused families and if you're into the ranch/rural lifestyle.

Now the problems I have with this EP is when you don't play a pet-focused household. I tend to switch between households a lot, and suddenly I find out they adopted a pet, and got puppies/kittens/foals. I turned off Story Progression and did everything I could to deactivate neighborhood pet adoptions, but I wasn't able to stop pets from entering their households. It's extremely frustrating, I feel bad whenever I am forced to have those pets taken away by the social worker. Stray pets are the worst- worse than raccoons. They enter my household just like that, without scratching the door or even trying to interact with my sims to want in. And they just disappear magically whenever they leave the house. They don't walk out of the door or anything- they just disappear like that. The EP has caused me some issues as well. A pet was stuck, and the whole town was completely unplayable after that.

Pets also slow down your sim's career progression and family status. I often found myself spending too much time taking care of the pets to the point some families barely had any time to get promoted at work and raise children.

I would only recommend this EP if you're really into pets regardless they slow down your sim's career progression and other things they must do in their lives. And of course, if you're okay with inactive households to randomly adopt pets.
I'd give a 5.5/10 or 6/10 for this EP. This is just my opinion by the way.

I would say this game is pretty good. I love the open-world gameplay style to it, it's nice to have your sims be free to go where ever they want without having to wait on loading screens. Speaking of loading screens, they are quite long. It takes about 2 minutes per loading screen for the game to load up for me- thankfully, they don't happen often and only do when I start up the game and load up a save. I really enjoyed the free customization. It made home designing unlimited, as I could change the materials and colors of any wall paintings and furniture. I made myself a cyberpunk neon home thanks to iy. The same applies to character creation, it's great to NOT be stuck to the pre-made clothing designs.

I own the Pets expansion pack, I recommend it unless you're the type of player who doesn't like it when your characters are distracted from reaching their goals. (Pets require lots of attention and care, and may slow down whatever goals you're trying to make your sim reach) I love the extra building and clothing items added to the expansion pack as well.

My only issues with this game is the numerous bugs, glitches and freezes. I have a Windows 10 computer, my settings are set low as possible, no mods or creator content yet the game continues to lag. Not to mention that the interactions between sims seems less energetic than those in the Sims 2. I feel like my Sims aren't really into each other when they interact and it bores me at times.

Overall, good game. I would rate it a good 4/5.
