The Horizon series is quickly becoming my all-time favorite series in gaming, and Forbidden West is the reason for it. The story is fantastic (though not quite as groundbreaking as that of Zero Dawn), the gameplay has vastly improved from the first game, the world is absolutely massive, and the graphics and animation is plain old stunning. As far as open-world western-style RPGs go, this game has it all: stealth ranged combat, monster hunting, fantastic voice acting and mocap, and a gorgeous environment.

Perhaps the only quarrel I have with the game is in its melee combat, which—though much better than the first game's—still feels a bit wonky.

If you're interested in a beautiful, AAA, action RPG with a massive open world and an excellent story, definitely give Horizon Forbidden West a look.

This is by far one of the weirdest and most breathtaking games I've played in many years. I don't really know what to say about it that doesn't give away too much, so I'll leave it at this: I highly recommend this game, but I can only recommend it to you if you plan on playing multiple playthroughs of the main storyline (at least 3). The story is unlike anything I've experienced, and the plot mechanics make perfect use of the gaming medium. Please check this game out.

The Persona games have consistently been among my favorite games, and Persona 5 was no exception. I initially started playing the original P5 when it came out on PS4, but by the time Royal had released, I was playing games mostly on my PC. P5R came out at the perfect time as I've been obsessing over my Steam Deck, and this game is the perfect fit for on-the-go gaming.

What can I say about the game that hasn't already been said? I suppose I'll end up repeating most of what other reviews have already covered, but I guess I can reiterate their notes and add my own voice to the choir singing the game's praises.

First, the visuals. While the graphics themselves aren't all that breathtaking, the visual style of the game is. The flashy, bright colors, the typefaces, the animations... It all comes together to create a stunning visual style that has yet to be replicated.

Second the gameplay. While I personally haven't grown tired of turn-based combat, I do recognize and accept the trend away from it in games like Final Fantasy. Persona 5, however, finds a way to make turn-based combat fresh and "new," as it were, adding fascinating and unique systems that have me addicted. Oh, and that's not even mentioning the social simulator aspects of the game that are crucial to the Persona series. That part of the game does not disappoint either.

Third, the story. This is the one area where the game might falter a bit, and that's only if you've played its predecessor, Persona 4 (Golden). P5's story is definitely great, but it doesn't quite live up to the standard set by the game that came before it. I wouldn't call it a knock against the game though; it's still got an excellent story with fun and engaging characters.

Finally, the characters. Again, I think P4 might just edge P5 out slightly in terms of characters, but the game still has an amazing cast. Their growth is enjoyable and fulfilling, and I love discovering what each of them can add to my overall arsenal.

Persona 5 Royal is a must-have. It's quite possibly the best JRPG released in a very long time.

I first played through the game upon its initial release on the PS4, and I'm happy to report that the game is just as good as the PS4 version, with some quality-of-life improvements for the PC platform. The visuals are stunning, the voice acting in both Japanese and English are fantastic, the combat mechanics are excellent—incorporating a system that feels true to Final Fantasy's roots while also modernizing the gameplay, and the story is engaging—remaining close to the original FFVII to be considered a faithful retelling, but with some subtle and not-so-subtle adjustments to keep the story fresh.

As many have said already, this is not a 1:1 remaster of the original FFVII; rather, it is a complete overhaul of the original game. It's also only a part of the story, wrapping up at the end of the Midgar portion of the story. Sure, it's a bit of a cynical cash grab on the part of Square Enix, but it's exciting to see the narrative fleshed out so thoroughly. (And yes, now that we know about Intergrade and the upcoming Crisis Core remake, it's pretty clear Square Enix wants to milk the FFVII cash cow for as long as possible, but I digress.)

FFVII is one of my favorite games of all time, and this remake has thoroughly rekindled my love for the game while providing me a fresh, new experience. 8.5/10

Quick notes:
- Playing with a mouse & keyboard is just fine for most of the game, but the motorcycle level benefits heavily from using a controller.
- The game lacks much of the customization one would expect from a PC game. It feels very much like a PC port in that sense.
- While I've finished FFVII Remake on PS4, I have not finished it on PC, nor have I played the Intergrade chapter on either system.

An excellent FPS with some unique features. I haven't tried multiplayer yet, but so far the campaign has been a lot of fun to play. I have noticed issues with the game stability occasionally, but they're sporadic, and I'm not able to replicate the scenarios that cause the crashes.

This is by far the most enjoyable game I've ever played. I love narrative-heavy games, and The Witcher 3 delivers on that. But what I didn't expect was that I'd be sucked into the everyday activities in the game that doesn't further the story. At the time I'm writing this I've spent nearly 125 hours in this game. To get through the main story, you can expect to play around 70-80 hours. But the game has so much more to offer, so don't be surprised if you find yourself spending over 100 hours on this game. Even the sidequests have fully fleshed out narrative arcs, many of which would be capable of being their own full games themselves.

Graphically, the game is showing its age a tiny bit, but the environments are still stunning, and the gameplay holds up really well.

If you're looking for the perfect RPG, you needn't look any further than this.
