An amazing game. It has been lacking a Battle Pass of late so there's no real incnetive to play, other than just to enjoy the game itself.
I'm one of those players that does enjoy a Battle Pass or even small events in game that award players with skins, etc. With that being said DOTA is fun enough to be able to look past that.

The learning curve can be quite steep, but once the basics are covered, DOTA is enjoyable. You can see your skills gradually develop and every game can be a learning experience.

It's worth giving it a shot to see if it's something of your liking.
