Finished my first play-through in 90h, and it was great experience.

Story is enjoyable, interesting and more complicated than it firstly appeared. Exploration and hand crafted terrain is really stunning and beautiful. You can explore the island, craft weapons and food.

Play it fast, or slow, explore, everything is ok.
You cannot become a mage, but despite of that you can play magic-build and even fist-fighter one,
if you so desire. Everything is viable.
You have enough LP to learn and experiment with different play-styles.

Dialogues and voice acting is great, too. Most NPCs had charisma and character. It is not full of generic NPCs as in e.g skyrim. Seen some funny dialogues, some sad ones... You can really feel the strong emotion in some scenes... I am not going to spoiler, so play for yourself.

There are lot of new monsters and armors. You are not locked to using only armors of your guild, but you can get interesting pieces from merchants, and in the wilds.

Discord of creators is active, developers promptly fix bugs that are reported. I run only into 3 bugs and I think all are fixed by now. It was really polished game :D.

THQ should expand lore of gothic in their remake of first game, and make some references to this masterpiece. Before editing this review, I said that it has potential to become "Enderal of Gothic", and I believe it has accomplished this. For me, this was better experience than Gothic 2 Notr (which I love, by the way), and truly Game of the Year.
