You reload with Backflips.
Imagine Trials/Joe Danger/Happy Wheels meets Metroidvania.
Hard as nails, and tough to learn. When you pull off a cool string of kills, flips, etc. the feeling of greatness is rivaled only by the hardest of Souls-Likes.
The story and setting are bleak, torn apart by blood, and war. The Story is deep, violent, adult, and downright depressing sometimes.

Finally...THE MUSIC. THIS OST. I cannot state how lucky Brainwash Games are, to have the In-house talent of Beicoli. Every song in this game is a vibe, and makes driving through the wastes far more enjoyable.

If you are up to the challenge, then please, for all that is good in the world. This game deserves your purchase, and your playtime.

Game Breaking bug that is inconsistent happens after solving the Ritual Room. The Lord's Door does not open to the next puzzle (The Stairway), even after getting the floor to go away in the Peasent side. I have researched it, and saw the devs say there were multiple fixes applied to the game to fix it, but that was in 2019. This game is still broken after all this time.

We had to restart the game from the beginning, to get another attempt at solving the stairwell puzzle. We tried this 3 times, and after every fail at the Stairwell, we had to restart the game from the beginning, to get it to work properly. It appears that this bug is just unsolved, and will continue to happen randomly. We got tired of trying after the 3rd restart.

First game was a blast, and was ready to play the second one, but my Fiancee and I could not progress through the stairwell, due to this bug, that has been an ongoing issue for years now. If I hadn't gotten this game in a bundle, i'd request a refund.

A simple, yet atmospheric and immersive, underwater shooter, with some of the best animations, water caustics, and sound design i've seen in a small passion project. The 2 man dev team deserves a lot of praise for the sheer level of immersion this game offers.

It is a simple game at its core, collect chests, survive the wave, maybe flee for a bit to a new objective, upgrade your weapons/dive suit, and do another dive. I can't fault the simplicity of the gameplay, because it is a $20 USD purchase. I can fault that it could get repetitive and bland in future runs, but right now, I am only at Dive 8. Every dive gets bigger, and with a slight change to environment, which is great, considering this game takes place, entirely underwater. There are slight shifts in color temperature, water color, and the "Inception-esque" soundtrack is rather plain, but the sound cues do a good job of keeping me on edge.

The upgrade system so far is rather plain, but it keeps me wanting to progress, so far. Typical upgrades for each weapon is to be expected, until later dives. but you can expect to see faster reload times, larger mag size, larger maximum ammo pool, etc.

If you're in the market for a simple horde shooter, with a unique setting, and you got $20 USD burning a hole in your pocket, this game (at least so far) seems entirely worth the purchase price. If you're worried about the simplicity of the gameplay, wait for a sale, or snag it NOW while it has the launch discount, and save a couple bucks!

TL:DR at the bottom:

PROS:
Possibly the best non-RTS Warhammer related game.
Combat is weighty, meaty, and satisfying. Possibly the best melee combat has ever been in an FPS game.
Music is legitimately top notch, and Jesper Kyd is a genius.
Game looks amazing, even on low settings.
The atmosphere is Amazing, and the commitment from the Devs to the WH40k universe is visible in every aspect of the game.
Devs (sometimes) listen to the community, and have already fixed some issues that players had

UNFORTUNATELY, the optimization is so poor, that there is no performance difference with any settings on my rig, with an RTX3080, and an i7 10700f with 32Gb or RAM.
1080p, 1440p, 4k, all similar levels of performance, with constant dips into the low 40's or lower, on new maps
Frametime spikes that happen at random moments, with apparent stutters and huge dips in FPS as a whole.
The optimization is a travesty, and it needs to be addressed. No reason i cannot run this game at 60fps constantly, at 1440p, with my PC. I have yet to find settings where I maintain 60fps for a whole mission. Numerous dips below that are common, and happen more than a half dozen times, regardless of mission/graphics settings.

This didn't happen to me, but Windows 11 Users, and Ryzen CPU users, be warned, crashes have been rampant, and random. The most common denominator is Windows 11, and/or Ryzen CPUs. A buddy of mine got 32 seconds into the game POST RELEASE, and crashed. He is both on Windows 11, and a Ryzen CPU.

To top it off, they added the Ca$h shop, full of predatory tactics. The classic, "Buy some Premium currency, but you will have left overs, and now you need to buy more to get another bundle". Memories of Xbox points, and Wii Shop points come flooding back.
Not to mention, they are making certain bundles and cosmetics "Limited Time", to fully infect all user's with FOMO.

This pains me to write, since I truly, TRULY love this game, and wish i could play it more. But with the optimizations seemingly getting WORSE after every patch/update/release, I am not finding myself wanting to suffer through the performance.

TL:DR
I Do not recommend the game in its current state, due to the horrid optimizations, the predatory cash shop, and weird amount of bugs, that just seem to hinder gameplay in the oddest of ways.
Will I continue to play it? Probably, its legitimately a blast to play, and I would easily consider it one of the most fun games i've played all year.

Fatshark being Fatshark, i would wait a few months, up to a year, before buying this game, as their track record of bad game launches, unfortunately, continues with this release.
